I've always appreciated Adam's game. She was a great stretch 5 who was really undersized at her position, but she put in the hard work and used her game to her advantage. She's also very humble. That 2011 team was very special.

Danielle Adams talks 2011 title run, being inducted into A&M Sports HOF
Key notes from Danielle Adams interview
- It’s a huge honor to be getting inducted into the A&M Sports Hall of Fame. To be named among those great players, including Von Miller, is a real honor. Coach Blair called me to let me know. He just told me he worked hard to get me on the ballot this year. If I wasn’t going to get in this year, he would work just as hard next year.
- I feel like the whole 2011 national championship team should get in. If it wasn’t for them, I wouldn’t be the player I am now.
- It’s very neat that Von Miller, Jessica Beard, and I were seniors in same year. Von being the Super Bowl MVP and Jessica being one of the greatest track athlete at A&M ... I got to know Jessica a little bit and Von and I met a couple of times. It was a great year and I couldn’t be more proud.
- I wasn’t that heavily recruited in high school. I had a whole lot of friends that I played summer ball with that went to Jefferson Community College. It was close to home so it made my decision pretty easy.
- Coach (Johnnie) Harris was an assistant at Arkansas and she was recruiting me. When she went to A&M, she was still recruiting me and got the other coaches involved and they came to a few of my games. I went on a visit and fell in love with A&M. Since two of my friends were going there, it made it a pretty easy decision too. My coach at Jefferson wanted me to go to Louisville. But A&M was everything I wanted in a school.
- When I first got to A&M, I had to get in shape. Shooting those first couple of threes against Duke and hearing the crowd go crazy, that was a great first game experience. It gave me a lot of confidence. I had a lot of doubters going into A&M. They said I couldn’t play in the system or I couldn’t get enough minutes, but that game gave me confidence.
- Every year I thought we could be a championship roster. My senior year, we worked as hard as we could and we had good chemistry. I thought we could make a deep run into the tournament. I never thought we could make it to the championship, but our dedication and hard work helped us get to the championship.
- The first three games against Baylor were very close. The fourth time we got up, we worked hard and got over the hump. It wasn't just me, it was the whole team. We all chipped in and worked hard for each other. I had a great group of girls around me who worked hard.
- When I think to the win of Stanford, the pass and the layup at the end really stands out to me.
- At first in the national championship game we were nervous, but we calmed down during the second half. That three from Tyra (White) really helped us get over that hump and finish the game.
- I wish I could have come back and really enjoyed that next season. We enjoyed that championship night with family and friends. It was really enjoyable.
- I passed up a professional opportunity last year because it was very important to get a degree from A&M, that’s the whole reason I went to college. It made me and my family proud.
- Hopefully I'll get to play for a long time, but it's up to my body. When I’m done playing, I want to coach, stay in the game and give my knowledge to younger players. I want to coach college, but I think high school could be fine as well.
