Texas A&M lands pledge from Fort Bend Marshall OL Barton Clement
Texas A&M’s June recruiting momentum received another big push today, and it once again came from the Houston area. Missouri City Fort Bend Marshall offensive lineman Barton Clement decided he was ready to make the call for the Aggies, so he dialed up Coach Sumlin and delivered the news.
The 6-3, 300-pounder is the third offensive lineman in Texas A&M’s 2018 recruiting class, joining fellow Houston-area standouts Colten Blanton and Luke Matthews. He chose the Aggies over offers from Florida, Ole Miss, Texas, Auburn, Michigan, Oklahoma, Ohio State, TCU and UCLA.
Clement is ranked No. 36 overall in the TexAgs 2018 Texas Top 118 and is the No. 5 offensive lineman. He has been a varsity starter at Marshall since his freshman season. He has been a two-time all-district selection and was named first-team all-state as a junior.
