Is there new information or just took this long to kick him off the team?

Wide receiver Kirk Merritt dismissed from Texas A&M football team
Texas A&M receiver Kirk Merritt, who was charged with two counts of indecent exposure, was dismissed from the football team on Tuesday as reported by the Bryan-College Station Eagle.
Merritt, 20, was accused of exposing himself to female tutors on consecutive nights last fall, which resulted in a suspension from the team that was never announced.
Merritt is not included on the A&M roster on 12thman.com.
Merritt was suspended on Oct. 28 and reinstated on Feb. 1 after the completion of a “Student Life Conduct Conference” by the university.
Merritt pleaded not guilty to charges of indecent exposure. His attorney, Rick Davis, said that Merritt did not intend to expose himself in a sexual manner but rather was inflicted with a severe case of jock itch.
“While Kirk is very embarrassed about the situation and has apologized to the two tutors that he offended, he did not intend to gratify anyone by exposing himself,” Davis said earlier this month. “The fact is that Kirk had a bad case of jock itch.”
A transfer from Oregon, Merritt did participate in spring football drills but did not appear in Texas A&M's spring football game after the Houston Chronicle reported his arrest on April 7.
