On takeaways from the Shriners Classic...
"Yeah we played really well. I thought we hit the ball better than we have in a long time. Some pitches didn't go our way, and they made us pay for it. I think overall we played good baseball, and I think that's going to transition to more wins down the road."

On what the team's focus this week and bouncing back...
"We are just going to continue to play good baseball. We know if we play good baseball then the outcome is going to be how we want it."

On his approach at the plate...
"I always have guys on base it seems like when I get up, so it's really just trying to drive those runs in to help the team score runs, and when you get a pitch to handle, you can get somebody to pay for it and when you score a run it helps everybody out."

On the Aggie freshmen..
"It's a hard-working group. It's a group that's not going to give up or a group that's going to want to be the best. We know in order to be the best we have to put the work in. We have guys that come in early and take ground balls. We have guys that hit early, so everyone is working together to be the best we can."

On why he chose A&M...
"I came down for a baseball game, actually, and just the buzz and the electricity in the air was crazy. It was a lot of fun."

On his emotions when he stepped out on the field for the first time...
"Oh there were a lot of butterflies that's for sure. There was a lot of butterflies, but once Brigham threw the first pitch they were mostly gone but it was just a lot of fun."

On his favorite part about playing on Olsen field...
"They are loud. There is some funny stuff they say, but all in all, they are loud and behind you the whole way. They are going to pick you up if you're down, and they will keep rooting for you. They are going to stay behind you the whole way."
