Texas A&M Softball beats Lamar 2-1 to open season
Game #1: Texas A&M 2, Lamar 1
Victory comes to those who make the least mistakes, and that's exactly how Friday's game between Texas A&M and Lamar was settled. The Aggies prevailed 2-1 in their season opener and the first game of the annual 2017 Aggie Classic Tournament.
The contest was low scoring, showcasing both defenses, but the Aggie offense was able to produce enough to edge the Cardinals. While Texas A&M struggled to get a run on the board in the first five innings, their bats eventually heated up in the bottom of the sixth, when they scored two runs.
