Jermaine Eluemunor talks NFL Draft prep, A&M underclassmen & more
Key notes from Jermaine Eluemunor interview
- NFL Draft prep is going really well. It's been fun and a lot of really hard work, but I love it.
- A lot of teams like me at guard in the NFL, but next week at the NFLPA Bowl I'm playing tackle. I'll play anything they ask me to but most teams like me starting off at guard.
- Redshirting and changing positions benefited me a bunch. I haven't been playing long and that extra year helped me really understand the game more. This year I came in and was a totally different player than I was before.
- All three position coaches I played under had a different style of coaching. The different blocking schemes and learning from them really helped me and has given me an advantage.
- The funniest thing Coach Turner ever did on the practice field was lay on the ground and watch our feet. I didn't believe he did that until the first week of practice and he did it to me during a run blocking drill. I've never seen a coach be that focused on something. I love Coach Turner and he's the best offensive line coach I've ever been around.
- A&M has such a family atmosphere. In the recruiting process I went to a bunch of great places, but A&M was just different. When I came to Texas, it just felt like home. A&M has some of the best fans in the country but I was also able to form such a great bond with my teammates. I'm thankful for everything I went through at A&M and it will always be home.
- Trayveon Williams is only going to get bigger and stronger and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes over 1,500 yards next year. Erik McCoy came in and was a leader on the offensive line. Y'all are going to love Koda Martin, too. He went up against a future first rounder against K-State and showed he's going to be a good one.
- Colton Prater, Connor Lanfear and Keaton Sutherland are all going to be great players, too. All of the young guys have a lot of promise. The offensive line will be one of the strongest units on the team in the next few years, they'll be fine without me and Avery.
