On his performance against the Islanders...
"I played okay. I definitely could have done a better job on the boards for my teammates. I could have done a better job just defensively, just communicating in some areas. The 25 points definitely just came from my teammates finding me in the right spots and putting me in position to score the ball."

On stepping into a leadership role this year...
"It's definitely helped me grow. I was fortunate last year to have guys like Alex Caruso, Jalen Jones and (Danuel) House teaching me how to be, how to talk and when to talk. This year, it's definitely been a big transition for me speaking up more. I'm not a big talker. I'm definitely an energy-giver just by what I do, but it's been a big change for me."

On the point guard position...
"I would say it's definitely getting better. I would say J.C. (Hampton), coming from Lipscomb and averaging 15 a game. Admon (Gilder) is a scorer. I mean those guys just have to get used to it. They have to get comfortable. I feel like they really are. Admon is definitely showing that he's more comfortable. He's knowing when to score and when to slow it down on offense. J.C. is doing a great job communicating. Chris Collins looks good out there running the point some, slowing it down and telling us where to be. Hopefully we get Chase (Carlton) back soon because he's really good at is as well. We have a lot of guys that can do their part running the point, so we'll see where it goes."

On the Wooden Legacy Tournament performance...
"I'd say that we played a little bit less than 'well' in each game. I would say that the first game we were supposed to win the way we did. Against Virginia Tech, we didn't play as well as we could have. We went down, but we fought back. Then against UCLA, we definitely could have won that game. We gave it up to them. I would definitely saw we did not play well. We have a lot of improvements to make."

On the comeback against Virginia Tech...
"I know we have fighters on our team. We have guys that aren't going to back down, but it's all about being consistent. It's all about keeping that same fight through the who game from beginning to end. We can't just turn it on when we're down 12. We need to turn it on and keep in on when we come out for the jump. That's the thing that we have to focus on – just staying more focused and having the energy through the game."
