Locker Room Chat: D.J. Hogg on his teammates, offseason progress

On the win over American...

"Feeling pretty good. Especially – we watched a lot of film on them, and they played Maryland to the end. Maryland's ranked in the top 25. I'm not saying – who knows if Maryland played a bad game? But the way they looked and the way our coaches talked them up, they're a pretty good team. We handled them pretty well."

On his personal progress...

"Legs and shot are feeling good. I'm getting a little more comfortable starting. I'm getting more looks, so it's good. I should be more confident as the season goes on and keep getting more and more comfortable."

On developing his all-around game...

"Most definitely, especially attacking the rim and creating for others because I don't just want to be a one-dimensional player. Rebounding – the coaches have drilled me, especially on the offensive glass in practice. Every day, even when (there's no opposition on the court), they're always screaming, 'Go to the glass! Go to the glass!' So, I just thank them for that, because that's another part to my game."

On playing with longtime friend Tyler Davis...

"There's just more and more trust each year we play with each other. We just learn each others game more and more. Where he likes to catch it, when he likes to catch it – so he gets easy, drop-step buckets. He doesn't even have to do that much. As far as him, he knows when to kick it out. We have a look when my man turns his head and I cut, he hits me right away. It's just better chemistry."

On freshman sensation Robert Williams...

"He's just a freak athlete. I've never played with anybody like him. He just has his length and athleticism and his motor. When he really wants to turn it on, he's a beast."

On the new Aggie coaches...

"They're all real cool. They're also learning how to coach us, get the most out of us and how we click and stuff like that. But they're all real good. We're all building good relationships. There haven't really been any problems, and it's fitting well. The first two games have gone well."
