Love the shout out to Craig Potts and the AGGIE field staff who manicure the playing surface at the AGGIE softball complex like no other.

What of my all-time joys was watching the 2005 and 2006 Fightin' Texas Aggie women's softball team while I was a student. Because I traveled to some of the away games I was able to make friends with several of the players and their parents at these games.

batting 1st the Center fielder Sharonda McDonald
batting 2nd and playing third base Jamie Hinshaw -- I had a crush on this one.
batting 3rd the pitcher Amanda Scarbrough
batting 4th at first base Megan Gibson
etc. etc. etc. what a team -- I kind of remember that Texas game as a pinch hitter hit a two run triple for the win in the 5th and Cat Osterman was pulled. Megan Gibson hit a three run homer down the left field line in the first on a ball off the plate inside that I do not know how she kept fair. I remember that many of the baseball fans came to the game and they actually stopped letting people in because the numbers were too big for the stadium. The chant of "It's all Cat's fault" ringing down the right field bleachers as we knocked her out of the game was just fantastic. What a memory.

Gig 'em Amanda, and gig 'em 2016 softball
