Games cause things to change and if you can't look at the national football landscape and see that, I can't help you.

See Les Miles...from No. 2 to on his way out to saving his job all in a matter of 21 days.

You want honest analysis? We gave it to you with this report. Tried to sugarcoat nothing.

There's nothing to sugarcoat.

In the words of Aaron Rodgers............RELAX

Sumlin being a coach that is struggling is nothing new.

He can't beat LSU and beat Bama with a once in a lifetime quarterback, one time. He's what 2-2 against ole miss?

And that article about sumlin being the right guy was written recently.............

Olin and Gabe tried to be positive about our situation earlier in the season.

I am one of the biggest pot bangers out there, but even I wouldn't blame them for being positive early in the year.

Both Olin and Gabe have called it how they see it consistently. They called it like they saw it tonight:

As usual, defense played well enough to win all year. As usual, the offense sucks against any defense with a pulse. Now that year four is in the books, Olin and Gabe rightly said that Sumlin is on the hot seat and next year's results will determine his future here.

I don't see how you can take exception to these two guys reporting.

Sheesh. They are saying it's time for major changes. What do you want them to do? Throw the mic and cuss and scream on the post game wrap? That's our job as fans.

Great summary Gabe & Olin of the game and where our program stands. I personally don't believe Coach Sumlin is on the hot seat but ultimately he's responsible. He is a class act and represents Texas A&M very well on and off the field IMO. I agree with Olin that he obviously must make offensive changes. Coach Sumlin hired a successful veteran defensive coordinator last yr and he needs to do the same on offense this yr. We have clearly underperformed given our talent level. I have no idea who he will hire, but he'll get it done. Given our coaching staff, players, facilities, fan base, recruiting success, etc I think a top OC would jump at the chance to join us.

Don't blame anyone from being positive early in the year but how about lightening up on the fans that saw the handwriting on the wall in 2014 re OC. Changes were made, but many were criticized for stating their opinions re OC early on

"What I'm suggesting is that things may be coming together for Jake Spavital's group"EXPERT WRONG
"Some Aggie fans are past the point of allowing themselves to believe anything, in fact, has changed...
If you're 'one of those,' then I'd suggest you stop reading here. Why? Because, frankly, myself and the overwhelming majority of Aggies are tired of your woe-is-me, Chicago Cubs schtick."

It's flavor of the week analysis... Giddy over wins that don't mean anything & sky is falling after losses that were easy to predict...

It was obvious we were mediocre after the arky game...

Ole miss game proved Sumlin is clueless...

Oh well, joys of being an Aggie

I thought they were equally objective and critical of the team's very poor performance. No sugar-coating, no lipstick on the pig, just the facts both good (defense) and bad (offense and special teams). Other than the significant defensive improvement this year, the program lost ground. Gabe is right to hold Sumlin accountable, and he does so at the risk of Sumlin acting like a ***** and reducing TexAgs' access to the information it sells to premium subscribers.

Executive summary of Gabe's and OB's commentary: In two of three areas, the team stunk it up vs lsu, and the offense continues to be a huge problem that may take Sumlin down if not soon corrected.

Can't run, can't pass; not to worry, we'll be fine. Relax.

I think it's pretty simple. We have 4 receivers and 2 quarterbacks that everybody in the country wanted. We scored 1 or no touchdowns in 5 of our last 6 SECW games. That is unacceptable. Sumlin has to clean house on the offensive side of the ball as to coaching. The OL was horrible. Christensen has to go. Our wide receivers ran bad routes and did not fight hard enough for the ball. Moorhead has to go. I note that both of them were late hires. Play calling and scheme were bad. That's on Spav, and he has to go. I don't want him as qb coach either. Maybe recruiting coordinator. All of the above is also on the head coach, but Sumlin is not going. If Sumlin does not make good hires on the O side now, next year will be his last IMO. If he makes the changes and they are soso next year, he buys another year after that. We have made a huge commitment to football, and we deserve great results on the field. Anything less is unacceptable.

Edited to add that Sumlin's equivocating is also unacceptable. When asked about our offensive performance he answers that he will evaluate it. That is poor on his part. He makes similar disrespectful answers to other questions, if not outright falsehoods. His answer as to offense should simply be that our performance across the board on offense (with the exception of Tra Carson) is bad and unacceptable, and that it will be fixed.

Good analysis guys, thanks for the candor. I wish we'd see and hear this same type of hard-hitting breakdown and analysis at the next presser from our CEO, but I won't hold my breath. I have a better chance at winning the lottery (and I don't play the lottery).
