And the point is??????

And the argument that a team "didn't show up" that's why you beat them is so stupid... They beat the them... It's why the games are played. Texas can make the same argument..oh well Iowa state just beat us bc we didn't show up.

If the sips end up 6-6, I think Strong is good for another year.
If they look bad against tech and baylor (both at home?) he's done.

It's more of a criticism of Texas than an excuse. They have a lot more (highly ranked) talent, they play uninspired football, they're poorly coached, and I could watch it all day.

Currently tu sets with a 3-5 record.

Kansas at home is a win for tu because Kansas is just "that bad".

@ West Virginia will be a very tough place for tu to win. I believe they lose that one.

Texas Tech at home is probably a loss because tu does not have enough offense to keep up with Tech.

@ Baylor will be a blow out loss for tu.

So they will end up at 4-8 for the year. Strong may ... and that is a big maybe ... get one more year to right the ship.

If tu beats either West Virginia on the road or Texas Tech at home as well, then I believe at 5-7 that Charlie will be safe without question for another year.

And they are not getting to 6-6 for the year. Not happening.

No matter. Point is the sips have zero chance of going bowling this season and a decent chance to end with a losing record.

Watched most of the Iowa State game. Just could not turn the channel. Game too exciting, too mesmerizing.

Wonder how exciting the WV & TT games will be?

All tu can really do is have their QBs run the ball, either by scrambling or designed running plays. If they play a team that can actually defend that they are in for a tough game. They have to rely on their RBs to get all the yards or hope their passing game can somehow click. OU couldn't figure out how to defend the QB run/scramble and neither could KSU.

Iowa State may not be very good, but they did a great job of corralling the tu QBs and forcing them to move the ball through the air, and tu couldn't do it.

  • ND - Run: 12 att 5 yds Pass: 8/23, 103 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT - LOSS (blowout, only scored 3 points)
  • Rice - Run: 10 att 99 yds Pass: 5/10, 128 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT - WIN (it was rice after all)
  • Cal - Run: 24 att 163 yds Pass: 20/31, 364 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT - LOSS (Close game, missed XP)

Outside of the Cal game, those passing stats are stunning... in a bad way...

ND shut the running QBs down cold and blew them out. TCU did a good job there as well and blew them out. ISU did a decent job with this themselves and shut them out. OU and KSU did a poor job at this and got beat. Cal won but gave up 44 points.

That was a little uncomfortable for me considering we really don't have our act together yet with our team. Has he not watched our losses against ranked teams. We are doing OK as long as the teams are not ranked. I wouldn't be pleasuring in their misery considering the history of our losses too.
