Texas A&M Football
• It was Texas A&M's 19th straight win over non-conference opponents, which is the longest streak in the Football Bowl Subdivision.
• Under head coach Kevin Sumlin, the Aggies have won 18 straight non-conference games.
• The win raised A&M's series advantage over Nevada to 2-0 and gave Sumlin a win over his former assistant Brian Polian, who is the head coach of the Wolf Pack. Polian was a member of Sumlin's initial coaching staff in 2012.
• Today's game was a Southeastern Conference Prostate Cancer Awareness Game. The Aggies wore a special helmet sticker to raise awareness of prostate cancer prevention and honor former SEC Commissioner Mike Slive, who battled the disease during his athletics administration career.
Offensive notes
• Season receiving TDs record-holder Josh Reynolds continued to find his way to the endzone with a pair of receiving scores against the Wolf Pack. Reynolds, who had 13 receiving TDs in 2014, made 3 catches for 55 yards with TD strikes of 20 yards and 25 yards.
• Reynolds' third catch of the game was the 60th of his A&M career. Reynolds and teammate Ricky Seals-Jones are the only active receivers with 60 or more catches.
• Sophomore QB Kyle Allen matched his career high with four TD tosses while completing 18-of-31 passes for 270 yards. Allen also threw four TD passes last year against Auburn when he earned Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week honors and the AutoZone Liberty Bowl when he earned game MVP honors.
• Allen now has two or more passing TDs in seven of 12 career games, and at least one in every game of his career with six or more attempts.
• True freshman WR Christian Kirk continues his torrid start to his career with six catches for a game-high and career-high 120 yards. Despite taking the field with a host of veteran wideouts for teammates, the rookie leads the team with 16 catches for 269 yards. He has two 100-yard receiving games in the first three games of his career.
• Kirk recorded his second career 100-yard receiving game. One more game hitting the century mark will tie Kirk with Uzoma Nwachukwu (2009) and Mike Evans (2012) for most 100-yard receiving games by an Aggie freshman.
• Senior RB Tra Carson posted his first 100-yard rushing game since the 2014 AutoZone Liberty Bowl and the second of his career with 137 yards on 22 carries against the Wolf Pack. Carson's 137 yards was the most rushing yards for an Aggie RB since Ben Malena rushed for 142 vs. Ole Miss on Oct. 6, 2012 and by any A&M player since Johnny Manziel rushed for 229 in the 2013 Cotton Bowl vs. Oklahoma.
• When senior Brandon Williams took a handoff for a three-yard gain in the first quarter, he became Texas A&M's first two-way player since the late 1960s when future All-America and NFL All-Pro defensive back Dave Elmendorf and Ross Brupbacher saw action on both offense and defense for the 1968 Aggies. Williams, who was strictly a RB his first two seasons at Texas A&M, made the position change to cornerback after spring drills but remains an option at running back for the Aggies.
Defensive notes
• The Aggies logged 16 TFL for the game, the most in the Sumlin era, topping the 14 against Arizona State in the season opener.
• Sophomore DL Myles Garrett tied a career-high with 3.5 sacks despite having his wisdom teeth removed less than a week ago. It equaled the mark he sent against ULM last season. He also set a new career high for TFL with four. Garrett improved his numbers to 5.5 sacks and 6.5 TFL for the year and 17 sacks and 20.5 TFL for his career.
• Senior DT Julien Obioha, who shifted from DE to DT last spring, made his season debut against the Wolf Pack after missing the first two games of 2015 due to a fall camp appendectomy. Bulked up to 280 pounds, Obioha made an impact in the middle of the defense with three tackles and a half-sack.
• Sophomore DT Zaycoven Henderson and junior LB A.J. Hilliard were on the field for the first time in 2015 after being suspended for the first two games of 2015 due to a violation of Texas A&M Athletic Department rules and regulations. Hilliard led the team with eight tackles, including two TFL and one sack, while Henderson chipped in three stops, including on TFL.
Special teams notes
• Senior P Drew Kaser, who sat out the Ball State game with an injury, made his return to the lineup against the Wolf Pack. Kaser had a huge game with a 52.5 average on four punts, including two that were downed inside the Nevada 20.
• Senior PK Taylor Bertolet remained perfect on field goals and PAT tries -- 3-of-3 on FGA and 5-of-5 on extra points.
Game captains / 12th Man
• Game captains were OC Mike Matthews, RT Germain Ifedi, DE Myles Garrett CB Brandon Williams. Nevada won the toss and deferred their choice to the second half. The Aggies received the opening kickoff.
• Making his 29th consecutive 12th Man start was senior Sam Moeller (San Antonio, Texas).
