The Texas A&M defense gave up 74 yards on Ball State's first two snaps of the game.
From that point until halftime, John Chavis' crew gave up next to nothing.
How dominant were the Aggies on D during the first half? On the Cardinals' 24 snaps after the first two plays, the visitors amassed a grand total of 28 yards of offense, with the only first down coming via a pass interference penalty.
All seven of Ball State's drives following the first possession ended in three-and-outs (the PI call came on first down and the Ags promptly got off the field on three plays) and the Cardinals were a woeful 0-fer on eight third down tries (they were 2-of-13 on third down for the game).
