Mississippi State 48, Texas A&M 31: Defense in review

Let’s start by looking at one very telling number: 48. That’s how many points Mississippi State had with over 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. Basically, the Bulldogs scored 48 points in 49 minutes of game clock. All told, MSU’s scoring drives covered 75, 66, 87, 47, 84, 75 and 25 yards, so only one of its SEVEN touchdown drives was what you’d call cheap.

Other disturbing numbers coming out of this one include 289 rushing yards at an average of 5.
