Texas A&M and Rice always match up with plenty to play for, but this game was nearly a must win for the Ags.
The Aggies faced four straight games on the road against top-25 teams to start a closing stretch that is as tough as any team in the SEC; they started it the right way with a 6-5 victory over the Owls.
Cole Lankford went 4-for-5 at the plate and drove in one run in his second four-hit game of the year. The top five in the Aggie order had eight hits and all six RBI.
