Get YOUR Boots On and Support the Boot Campaign
Watch the brand new video below from Joe Nichols “The Shape I’m In,” featuring Marcus Luttrell and wounded warriors: BootCampaign.comPopular country music star Joe Nichols, along with Aggies Governor Rick Perry, Head TAMU Football Coach Mike Sherman, former TAMU and professional tight end Hunter Goodwin, Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Coach Mark Turgeon, TAMU Women’s Basketball Coach Gary Blair, Texas A&M University Association Of Former Students Executive Director Porter Garner, Texas artist Granger Smith and a growing list of national celebrities have put their boots on in support of our military men and women and veterans. The Boot Campaign is a grassroots organization whose mission is to see one million Americans in a pair of Boot Campaign “Give Back” boots, the same desert military footwear many of our troops wear in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Boot Campaign supports existing charities working with returning veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Net proceeds from the sale of Give Back boots and other merchandise are donated to charity partners such as Wounded Wear, The Lone Survivor Foundation, the Military Warriors Support Foundation and Not Alone.
This video shows, in a powerful way, the debt of gratitude we all owe our wounded warriors who have fought and protected our freedom and our way of life. Marcus Luttrell is a Texas native (who grew up about 70 miles from College Station), a Navy SEAL, and the author of New York Times #1 bestseller Lone Survivor: The Eyewitness Account of Operation Redwing and the Lost Heroes of Seal Team 10. He has teamed up with Joe Nichols and two wounded veterans to create the new music video of Joe’s song, “The Shape I’m In”, which debuts nationwide this week. Operation Redwing saw the single deadliest day in the War on Terror and is one of the most decorated missions (Congressional Medal of Honor, Navy Cross) in the U.S. military history.
We are including the hopeful and powerful video to raise awareness about military veterans' continued needs when they return home from war. As some of you are aware, the Boot Campaign was in town during the Nebraska game this fall. An inspired group of local companies and volunteers are planning to bring more Boot Campaign events to the Bryan/College Station community. Please take a few minutes to watch this new video in support of our American troops. Then GET YOUR BOOTS ON by purchasing and proudly wearing your own pair of “Give Back Boots” at BootCampaign.com. Please also go to the Boot Campaign Facebook page at Facebook.com/bootcampaign for more information.
Please share this movement and video with your friends and family, business owners and community leaders to increase the already growing popularity of the Boot Campaign.
And, of course, a huge Aggie “thank you” to all our previous, current, and retired military personnel.
Joe Nichols, "The Shape I'm In"
