This is from the same Clay Travis who earlier this week wrote an article for his Outkick the Coverage website that said "That's when I learned the Bible says some crazy, crazy things and that building your belief system on any one issue around a few Bible verses is completely and totally stupid."

He also stated "The Bible says tens of thousands of things that are flat out ridiculous, racist, sexist, and impossible to follow in today's modern society."

His Twitter feed also had these gems- "Put simply, when people are stupid, they deserve to be ridiculed. And Chris Broussard is stupid as hell." This was in reference to Chris Broussard having the audacity to practice his religion or live out his faith outside of a church's walls.

Travis' Twitter feed continued "The idea that all opinions are equal & valid is one of the great flaws of a PC society. Many opinions are stupid. And should be called such."

Apparently Clay Travis thinks those who choose to believe that the Bible is the divine Word of God and as such should be the guide for every Christian to live by are stupid and not worthy of recognition by any "thinking" American. I wonder if TexAgs agrees with his sentiment. Placing him at the top of your A&M Football forum regardless of what he has to say on A&M is promoting his ideology.

Please dissociate this fine website and radio program from anti-Christian filth like Clay Travis. TexAgs is WAY too good for that.

Clay Travis is filth. Between his discussion of which actress's breasts are best looking/jiggly and his discussions of which actress would be the best in bed, I don't see how he qualifies as awesome, unless your perspective includes sadness that Fuego's replaced the adult video store on Texas Ave.

TexAgs may not be a Christian website but its ownership and the ownership of their radio station broadcast partner are. If you object to Christians operating their business according to their values, maybe Rivals is a better forum for you (all they care about is the almighty dollar).

In that post he never said that one shouldn't believe in the Bible or that he is against Christianity. He said you shouldn't base your position on a complex social issue off a single line of the Bible taken out of context.

He wasn't referring to Broussard taking a line out of context. Broussard was basing his beliefs on verses completely within the context of the books they're in and it was Clay taking verses out of context to illustrate how out of touch the Bible is in modern society. Read the quotes I referenced and bolded in my original post.

Truly a classless individual and TexAgs and Bryan Broadcasting should dissociate themselves with him immediately.

So Clay Travis is a typical liberal sports writer. That's hardly surprising. I'm a Baptist minister and I wouldn't worry about it too much. At least Travis told everyone exactly where he stands on the issue.

Though I don't condone his mockery, I at least appreciate him being upfront with the fact he is a declared unbeliever. I prefer that over the religious charlatans who pretend to be one thing but do another. Furthermore, anyone who does know the Bible will see what a fool Travis made of himself so the last laugh is on him.

Criticizing/mocking Christianity doesn't mean you're a liberal. He's said multiple times he believes in the free markets and hates stupidity. He's just calling it out where he sees it.

Being ambivalent towards homosexuality doesn't mean you are "pro homosexuality". And even if you were "pro homosexuality" it doesn't mean you are liberal. Believing in big government and social equity makes you liberal.

Read his articles about paying college football players for evidence of his support of the free markets.

tex93, I'm with you. I have never found anybody that hates Christianity that ever really read the Bible. They profess openness, progressive thinking, and superior intellect but in fact display none of them. PC applies to everything except bashing Christians and conservatives. If the rant had been about homosexuals, it would have already been deleted.

I was pleasantly surprised by Chris Broussard's position. Previously, I took him for a buffoon.

Secular states are uniquely vulerable to increasing tyranny through time, the fruits of unbalanced ego and unjust application of power. Judeo-Christian beliefs can effectively neutralize the negative applications of ego and power.

Clay Travis has been supportive of the A&M football program and I enjoy his perspectives. If he seeks to see the world through an undistorted lens, he's got further to walk on his path.
