Under the Lights: Aggies take notice of young stars in Week Nine
Texas A&M is dialed-in to the 2017 class at this point of the year, but that hasn't stopped the Aggies from noticing some talent in the younger ranks. The TexAgs recruiting team has updates on this year's class and more in this week's Under the Lights.

Q&A with Cibolo Steele 2018 DE Juan Henry
Cibolo Steele 2018 defensive lineman Juan Henry checks in at 6-foot-3 and 225-pounds. As a junior he has recorded 22 tackles, 4 TFLs, 1.5 sacks, 7 QB hurries, 1 FR, and 1 FF. He has yet to receive his first scholarship offer but he does have plenty of schools showing interest, and he is currently ranked No. 68 in the TexAgs 2018 Texas Top 118.He plans to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M for the Aggies contest with New Mexico State October 29, and he is being recruited by the Aggies' defensive line coach Terry Price.Who has shown the most interest to this point? Mostly the University of Kansas State, University of Washington, and Houston. How have those programs shown you interest? I mean since Sept. 1 they got my number and DM'd me on Twitter and sent me personal edits and sent me a lot of mail and game invites. What stood out about your trip to Kansas State? I like (defensive end) coach (Blake) Seiler and the things he did with the d-line and the d-ends. I really like the football facilities and mostly the weight room and locker room. What do you feel is your biggest asset/strength on the football field? My biggest is my quickness and using my hands and my feet is my biggest.Did you grow up with any favorite college programs? Yeah, my favorite was LSU and Georgia. Yeah family and just how they do things. They have good programs.Do you have any relatives who played college athletics? No sirWhat does it mean to you to be the first in your family to receive the recruiting interest from college programsIt means a lot. Being the first out of all my family makes me want to do better for them and help them out.Who do you try and model your game after on the field? My favorites are Von Miller and Khalil MackWhat college visits do you have coming up?Hopefully the University of Washington, I'm going to Incarnate Word this weekend (Oct. 8), and A&M the 29th and Houston on the 15th.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
