Houston Battle 7 on 7 News and Notes
I spent this weekend at CE King High School just off the beltway for Battle 7 on 7's Houston event. As always, there was serious talent all over the place with many Aggie offers in attendance. Many of the prospects I spoke to throughout the event currently have plans to check out Aggieland coming up this spring.Starting off in my neck of the woods, 2028 Shadow Creek WR Jaylen Addai was out on the field, but not in action. He came out to support CAT Takeover, a 7-on-7 team based in Houston, and was resting for a regional semifinal basketball game, where he also excels. If you're not aware, he's the son of Joseph Addai, former NFL Pro Bowl running back and national champion at LSU. He'll likely be one of Houston's most sought after recruits in the next two years and has made the trip to Aggieland twice for the UTSA and Auburn games. It also sounds like a spring practice visit is in the works. Next up is 2028 Dickinson CB Royce Bimage who was barely thrown to all weekend and showed a stellar ability to cut on a dime and erase space. He was offered by the Aggies after a stellar performance at Mike Elko's Summer Camp and has since made the trip to Aggieland for the matchup against Utah State. I was able to confirm that he currently plans to visit the weekend of March 20th for spring practice. He also wants to get out and see Texas, Houston, and Miami this spring. There was also a northeast presence at the event with many players coming in from Michigan, none bigger than 2027 Harper Woods (MI) WR Dakota Guerrant. I currently have an audio interview up on the site, so check that out with intel on him. One of the best programs in the state, Cass Technical (MI) had some players in attendance with teammates OT Antijuan Wilkes and WR Mylan Griggs making the trip down to Texas. They play on the same team as QB Donald Tabron II, who is looking like an early target for the Aggies. Wilkes will be in town today to catch a look at Aggieland for the first time after new offensive coordinator Holomon Wiggins made a trip to the school. He also has plans to visit Oregon, Penn State, and Michigan State this spring. Griggs also had a lot of good things to say about Coach Wiggins and the conversations they had on the day he offered him and he liked the fact that he's a former receivers coach now calling the plays. He also plans to be in Aggieland soon for a visit. Also wanted to note that Guerrant's teammate 2028 WR Deandre Bidden also plans to be in Aggieland today. Heading out west, Desert Edge (AZ) has become a pipeline for the Aggie program with CB Jamar Beal-Goines and CB Camren Hamiel already on the roster. 2028 CB Nekhi Lambeth is next up for the Scorpions and was offered by former cornerback coach Jordan Peterson last spring as his first SEC offer. He talked about the community and brotherhood of the program really standing out and has plans to make it by for spring practice. Another Scorpion to keep an eye on is 2028 S Jaelyn Easterling-Flores who was offered by new cornerback coach Bryant Gross-Armiento. He talked about the love that the coaching staff shows the Scorpion program and their efforts to keep their best players together at the next level. He has spring visits planned for Texas April 18th and Notre Dame April 24th and hopes to get one scheduled to Aggieland soon. Last one is from another familiar program in Bergen Catholic (NJ) as ATHs and twin brothers Adrian Woodward and Amiir Woodward were in attendance performing with Cali Power. Both brothers are impressive athletes and display elite coverage abilities. They both will be in town today and are excited to see what the campus and program has to offer. They mentioned Texas A&M and Miami as schools standing out and plan to play at the next level at the same school.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
