Under Armour Notes and Thoughts
We'll have some more in depth stories and interviews with some of these guys, especially the ones we haven't talked to in a while, but here's a few recruiting notes and thoughtsDL Dealyn Evans, Longview (TX) Pine Tree Texas A&M commitFirst I liked what I saw from Evans today. He moved well in drills and won his share of one-on-ones. Showed some nice power and worked his hands well. On the recruiting front he plans to get back to Texas A&M a few times. He is heading to visit Georgia Tech after the Under Armour camp today and then he'll be back in College Station for a couple of weekends. TCU also continues to pursue and he will likely take a visit there this spring.Longview (TX) Pine Tree 2024 DL and Texas A&M commit Dealyn Evans @dealyn1k | @TA_Recruiting | #GigEm pic.twitter.com/hpLuhj4RDU— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 DL Charleston Collins, Little Rock (AR) Mills He took home DL MVP honors and had a great camp today. He Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Alabama are among his visit plans. The fact the Aggies were the first Texas school to offer him stands out to him as well as the real honest conversations he has with the coaches. Arkansas, LSU, Michigan are a few programs who standout out. He said he'll probably have to change up his top 12 that he released earlier. He plans to take three OVs this summer and save a couple for the season and commit around November. Little Rock (AR) Mills 2024 DL Charleston Collins @Charleston_C10 | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/K7COEDESRF— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 DL Melvin Hills, Lafayette (LA) Lafayette Christian AcademyHe's supposed to visit this spring and he talks quite a bit with coach Elijah Robinson. He said he's a great coach and he would love to play for him. He likes the way they run their defense. Texas, Georgia, and Ohio State are schools he says he plans to visit soon. He says he wants to commit before his senior season. OL Blake Ivy, League City (TX) Clear SpringsHe snuck in so I missed him at registration. He visited A&M for Junior Day and received an offer in January. He likes coach Addazio's straightforward approach. He knows he wants to visit Texas A&M and Texas and wants to setup a couple of spring official visits. OL Daniel Cruz, North Richland Hills (TX) RichlandNorth Richland Hills OL Daniel Cruz says he knows he will visit Texas this spring and the Longhorns will also get an official visit. He wants to visit Ohio State and he's still trying to figure out his other three spots. He says he's going to try and visit Texas A&M this spring. He wants to commit by the end of summer and he wants to take his official visits in the spring and summer. OL Makai Saina, Arlington (TX) MartinSaina says he plans to visit LSU, Oregon, USC, Michigan, and Texas A&M in April. He does not have any official visits scheduled but he did say Texas A&M will "probably be one I go to for sure." He also keeps in touch with coach Addazio on a regular basis. RB Kewan Lacy, LancasterLacy was excited about the A&M offer this week. He's building a relationship with coach Blackwell. He has visited a couple of times and he likes the environment and he wants to return. He will visit Arizona State, Nebraska, and Oregon this spring with Arizona State being an official visit. He wants to make a decision before the season. Lancaster (TX) 2024 RB Kewan Lacy@kewanlacy22 | @LancasterFBwebo | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/G9mmGiIENG— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 RB Taylor Tatum, Longview (TX)He said he wants to get back to A&M if not in the spring than this summer and he know Texas A&M is a program he feels will get an official. Coach Fisher has taken a personal role in his recruitment. He plans to take OVs to Michigan and USC. RB Deondrae Riden, DeSoto (TX) - 2025Riden has taken a few trips to College Station and he's been working to build a relationship with coach Blackwell since he's joined the staff. He said he will probably gt back to College Station for the spring game and he is also making plans to visit USC, Oregon, and Michigan. DeSoto (TX) 2025 RB Deondrae “Tiger” Riden@riden_jr | @FootballDesoto | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/szFIYd32q7— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 LB Sandy Lewis, Lafayette (LA) Lafayette Christian Academy There was a lot of talk about Ole Miss momentum ad he's planning to visit Alabama, Ole Miss, and Georgia and he is trying to sneak in Texas A&M and Tulane. He was wearing an A&M shirt at registration and he said the Aggies, Alabama, and Ole Miss were standing out right now. LB Tyanthony Smith, Jasper (TX)He plans to narrow his list before the start of the season. USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Nebraska, Texas A&M, and Baylor are a few schools he mentioned as programs of high interest. As Brauninger reporter he will be back in College Station on March 20. CB Selman Bridges, Temple (TX) Lake BeltonBridges was really impressive today. I wanted to see him move and change directions as well as size him up and he definitely looks the part. Really long and he was smooth in transition as well. On the recruiting front he has Texas on the 25th and he is thinking about Baylor on the 31st. In April he has Arkansas, Oregon, Texas A&M, and LSU. He just came back from USC and the Trojans made a strong impression. When he visits A&M in April he just wants to continue to build his relationship with coach Rushing. CB Kobe Black, Waco (TX) ConnallyHe visited in January and he plans to visit USC soon. He also plans to visit Ohio State, Alabama, Oregon, and Nebraska. He doesn't have any official visits scheduled but he says he will probably take a couple this summer and save some others for the fall. In-state he says he will likely get back to Texas and Texas A&M. He wants to take his decision process slow but he does feel like he's getting close to naming a top 10 or so which could come this summer. S Myles Davis, Converse (TX) JudsonTalk about a guy whol looked like a million bucks, Davis looks like an LB but he was really good in one-on-ones as well. Moved really well. On the recruiting side, he was excited to receive his Texas A&M offer in February and he has been talking with BGA multiple times. He has never visited College Station so he is plans to get to Texas A&M for the spring game in April. Baylor, Texas, and Washington are a few programs he plans to visit this spring. Washington, A&M, Baylor, Arizona, and TCU are among the schools standing out. S Jordon Johnson-Rubell, Fort Worth, TX/IMG AcademyHe didn't participate in the camp, but he was there taking in the action. He mentioned last month he was talking more with A&M and was trying to get to College Station this spring. He said he continues to talk with BGA and they continue to talk about visits but he does not have anything scheduled at this point. He does have official visits scheduled to TCU and Texas right now. Ohio State and Ohio State are another couple of schools he knows he wants to take officials to ATH Terry Bussey, Timpson (TX)He hat been busy with basketball and now it's on to track and baseball. He doesn't have any visits scheduled but he anticipates a few open Saturdays in his future. He has a great relationship with the entire coaching staff including Jimbo and while he doesn't have any visits scheduled he has been talking with the Aggies about an upcoming visit A few more notes Midlothian WR Bryant Wesco took home WR MVP honors and was excellent today. He had a few acrobatic grabs and he just makes it look effortless. Really fluid out there. OU and TCU appear to be the teams to beat. Red Oak 2026 WR Brayden Robinson is crazy fast and quick and created separation with ease. He's going to be a terror for the next few years. He says he plans to get out to College Station this spring. Another visitor to watch out for is Duncanville S Ka'Davion Dotson. He has camped at A&M a few times and has offers from across the country. He has been in touch with the staff and he said he's probably going to visit this spring. Colleyville Heritage 2025 RB Riley Wormley had a monster day at RB. He earned RB MVP honors and when he came running out of the backfield his routes were just different. He did a great job of making subtle movements and turning defenders around. Lewisville 2025 OL Michael Fasusi didn't disappoint. He says he plans to get back to College Station this spring too. Also really liked what I saw from Red Oak 2025 DE Kamauryn MorganGood on good, two of 25s best, DE @KamaurynM vs OT @Michael_fasusi7 @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/7cm8twyNQM— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 Red Oak (TX) 2025 DE Kamauryn Morgan@KamaurynM | @rohawksfootball | @TA_Recruiting pic.twitter.com/3hJ6SVCFVh— Jason Howell (@Jason_Howell) March 12, 2023 Silsbee standout ATH Drelon Miller worked at WR today and man he has a solid build. He ran some really nice routes and made himself a good target but he didn't get many great opportunities today. Also thought Taylor Tatum showed some nice flashes but didn't have many great passes thrown his way. I do have to say I was more impressed with Tiger Riden's receiving ability than I thought I would. He made some really nice snags out there today.

A few Monday recruiting notes
The coaches are back on the road and Petrino is making his way through Arkansas. He'll check in at Bryant to see TJ Lindsey who is coming off his first weekend in College Station, and Little Rock Mills DL Charleston Collins, who is also a big target for the Aggies. Jimbo is in the DFW area with a few stops on his schedule today. Payton Pierce said Jimbo was stopping by today and he will also make a few other stops at nearby Allen and Melissa. The Aggies hosted prospects from all three in the last week with Melissa's Nigel Smith II in town for the Aggie's match-up with Florida last week and Allen's Zina Umeozulu and Davon Mitchell in town for Junior Day. I'm also hearing Jimbo could drop by Richland, home to OL target Daniel Cruz who is a possibility to visit for this upcoming weekend's junior day. Cruz is trying to figure out his weekend schedule and I hear he is looking at possible trips to A&M and Oklahoma on Saturday, a Sunday stop at TCU, or he could make it a weekend with a trip to Michigan. Smith visited Texas A&M last week for Texas A&M's basketball game with Florida, and the Aggies also attended one of Smith's basketball games. Defensive ends coach Terry Price dropped by to see Smith and Melissa take on Lovejoy last week. As I said before the visit, I am not expecting commitments from any of last weekend's visitors at this time, but the Aggies did make some headway and were able to show a lot of individual attention. If there's one closest to deciding right now, I would say to keep an eye on Air Noland. The quarterback spent multiple days in Aggieland and has a pretty strong bond with commit Debron Gatling. He was visited by coach Petrino last week before his visit and it sounds like the two are quickly developing a strong bond.

TexAgs National Average Rating

The TexAgs National Average Rating is a proprietary formula that calculates an industry-wide aggregate rating for each recruiting prospect. The formula includes publicly listed grades, scores, ratings and rankings by national recruiting services, along with a TexAgs rating. Combining the data provides a rating for each prospect, which is then normalized to fit the TexAgs Rating 100-point scale.

The intent of this rating is to provide TexAgs readers with a comprehensive snapshot of how individual prospects rank nationally.

TexAgs Rating

The TexAgs Recruiting team of Billy Liucci, David Sandhop, Jason Howell, Ryan Brauninger and a host of recruiting interns attends more than 75 games each fall and observes and evaluates every major Texas A&M target, as well as most of the top 150 prospects in the State of Texas. From this evaluation the team draws a rating for each prospect on a scale between 70 and 100.

99-100: Elite national prospect (Five-star)

Considered one of the best prospects in the nation and a likely difference-maker at the collegiate level. Displays all of the physical skills to be a future All-American with potential to be an early-round NFL draft pick.

90-98: Elite state prospect (Four-star)

Considered one of the best 30-40 prospects in the state and a top 250 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to be a major early contributor at the collegiate level with high professional potential.

80-89: Quality prospect (Three-star)

Considered one of the best 100 prospects in the state and a top 500 national prospect. Displays the physical skills to develop into a contributor over the course of his college career. Has the ability to become a professional prospect over time with development.

70-79: Solid prospect (Two-star)

Considered one of the top 250 prospects in the state. Has the physical skills to be a potential contributor at a D-1 program over the course of his collegiate career with significant development. Professional potential is low.

Staff Predictions

The predictions represent which school each staff member believes will ultimately sign the recruit, and the confidence meter represents his level of certainty in that outcome.

Example #1

If the predicted school is Texas A&M and confidence is set to “High”, then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Texas A&M and I feel very certain about that.”

Example #2

If the predicted school is “Alabama” and confidence is set to “Low,” then the staff member is saying “I believe that this recruit will ultimately sign with Alabama, but I’m not very certain about that.”
