In-state names surging with strong senior seasons
It's been an interesting few weeks for some players around the state of Texas who have seen their stock soar on the recruiting front as extensive game tape and highlight packages have been able to hit the desks and computers of coaching staffs across the country. Obviously, A&M is strapped in terms of numbers and are zero'd in on the same names you guys know and hear so often (Johnson, Foster, Turner, Adeleye, and so on), but there are so many variables surrounding the last few months of any recruiting cycle - much less one that's been impacted like the 2021 class due to the pandemic. Typically, you'd see these sort of increased valuations happen at an equal pace throughout the duration of the recruiting cycle due to coaches having ample opportunities to see these kids in camps, get them on campus to confirm measurements, and put all of their data points to use when watching game tape. They haven't been able to do that this year so this is why so many prospects are popping up with big time offers in the middle of November. Therefore, some names of note that we have hit on here and there that would fit into that aforementioned criteria would be guys like: Mansfield Lake Ridge CB Marvin Covington - 5-11, 180 pound cover man with verified track times. Has picked up offers from Miami, Houston, North Texas, TCU, and Mississippi State in the last 3 weeks alone. Jason has featured him quite a bit already. I think that offer list will continue to grow. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/11597679/5f8f7cca0dc048112471050eFt Bend Christian OL Remington Strickland - 6-4, 295 mauler that could play anywhere along the OL due to his athleticism and technique. Has 30 total offers with the last 4 coming from Michigan, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, and Texas. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/9624425/5f8207465cb37c072882207dBryan Rudder ATH Keithron Lee - 5-10, 180 do-it-all kid who's absolutely lit up the stat sheet this fall. Electric with the ball in his hands. Good comp of Ainias Smith. In the last 30 or so days, he's gotten offers from TCU, SMU, Washington, Utah, Tennessee, Arizona State, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, and Texas. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10348732/5f8b108c578d8006a455dd59
