is a USC commit that is from Los Angeles...who happens to be heavily recruited by the aggies as well...and he will be taking a visit to the A&M campus and wants it to be his last official visit.

we have a serious, legit chance of landing this kid if we can get him on a visit.

" Texas A&M has brought in a new staff and a new spread offense. I still want A&M to be the last visit."

" They called my coach and i talked to them, " Carrol said. " They have a new offensive coordinator and they are bringing in a new spread offense. It's kind of like the offense at our school.... I get along pretty well with Cromwell."

Cromwell was WR's coach at San Diego. I have seen weirder things happen.

Holy Sheet. They need to role out the red carpet for this kid and make sure he feels completely at home. Have McGee and JJ escort him around campus.

And recruits getting the red carpet rolled out for them is a common occurence, not something reserved for 5* recruits.

Well then, they better get the red carpet with gold lining...

Forget McGee and JJ escorting him. How about some sloots from an "escort" service.

that is very interesting, out of his 5 visits, he wants us to be last...

Spread offense? We are running a 2 RB set (TB and a FB). How is that a spread offense?

What are the chances he even makes it to visit #5? Hopefully, he wont drag his visits out into January. We would love for him to experience a game day weekend.

Colorado has the "sloots" already reserved!

Being the very last to be visited has its advantage because we get the last say so and leave him with the last impression.

But as big as he is as a recruit and knowing how hard schools will push for him im afraid he will have his mind made up before he gives A&M a chance

I can already see it "Im not gonna be able to make the trip down to College Station" = I already know where I wanna play

he must have only us and usc rated as high interest then colorado, florida, and uga all as medium interest and the others as low according to his rivals site, because they list them alphabetically and a&m is number 2 followed by colorad so he obviously has us in his top two which is great news...still considered a long shot though

Can you even imagine the impact this could have on our 09 class?

I would go so far as to say it would be stellar!

And would further make me believe we will be good in 2-3 years.

get him to commit, then have him convince R. Shepard and C. Loston to join him.

we can dream, right?

I would guess their unending stable of highly-recruited WRs probably has him a little worried that he won't see the field until his junior or even senior year, even if he's a complete badass.

I can see a WR recruit looking at our situation as pretty favorable with our HC coming in from the NFL and our perceived lack of WR talent. Still, don't hold your breath on this one. I doubt SC is going to lose a 5-star out of southern California.

I don't know if you are serious or not, but if you are, or if somebody else does, let me correct this.

If a kid is committed to a school (which he is, to USC) then the order of the school goes committed school to z (they are using S for Southern Cal, not U for University to determine alphabetical order) and then starts over again. That is why if a kid is committed to Texas, we are always seconds on his list regardless of who his second choice was.

In this case:

Southern Cal-committed.
Texas A&M
Colorado
Florida
Georgia
California
Florida State
UCLA

I hope that helps to clarify.

TexasAggie2009, I'm not saying they list by interest, as I do believe they use the system you described...

...but, take a closer look at Carroll's list. UCLA should come right after A&M and California should move up above Colorado. Florida State should be right behind Gerogia. Perhaps it's just a misprint.

Should it not go-

Southern Cal
Texas A&M
UCLA
California
Colorado
Florida
Florida State
Georgia

I'll take a shot at it at...

USC (soft verbal) High
Texas A&M High
Colorado High
Florida High
Georgia High
California Medium
Florida State Medium
UCLA Medium

There are a few things that need to happen this season to possibly add a top WR to the '09 class and attract '10 WR recruits.

1. The turn around must be evident. You don't necessarily have to win 9 or 10 games, but there needs to be signs that the program is on the rise. Put an end to the embarrassing losses and challenge, if not beat the ranked teams on our schedule. The future needs to look good to recruits.

2. Jeff Fuller needs to see an ample amount of playing time. If we are indeed thin at receiver, then a 4-star should be able to come in and land pretty high on the depth chart. If Fuller does that, it will definitely get the attention of other top WR recruits.

3. Fuller, and the rest of the receivers need the ball thrown their way. Early playing time is meaningless if you're not getting the ball. We have to make a concerted effort to get the ball to our wideouts or receivers will continue to avoid A&M like the plague.

If those three things happen, we should be in a pretty good position to land some top receivers. Playing and contributing early for a team on the rise, which is coached by a former NFL head coach and has an OC that was formerly an NFL receivers coach should be an attractive situation for any top receiver recruit. If Carroll is indeed considering A&M, those three things might be enough to sway him our way before signing day. Otherwise, I don't see us having any chance of luring him away from USC.

Ah, my apologies. To everyone as my explanation was no good.

The reason California, Florida State, and UCLA are not in alphabetical order as they should be is because he has cut them from the list and has zero interest compared to the other schools in which he has low interest. My point was, per rivals, we are in the same "interest group" as CO, FL, GA.

Again, I am sorry for not being more careful earlier.

FWIW:

quote:
Two other Trojan commits we hear will do the same are wide receiver Randall Carroll and athlete Patrick Hall. Carroll's commitment has been labeled soft as tissue paper since the moment he announced for the Trojans midway through his junior season.

Carroll recently visited Colorado while his team was in the area for a team camp and said he also likes Florida, Georgia, and Texas A&M. He'll take all five official visits but said if signing day was tomorrow, he would be a Trojan.
