Alabama is complete trash. They are lucky to be right next to Mississippi which is much trashier, but not nearly as trashy as Louisiana.

There are actually parts of Alabama that are very nice. Gulf Shores beats any shore line that Texas has. But you are right in that sections of Alabama don't look much if any different than Mississippi.

Drove through Montgomery once on way to Atlanta and yes it was around midnight. Kind of reminded me of Huntsville Tx, not sure if that's good or bad though.

I've been to Alabama many times. Nice folks and a descent place to live. No it's not Texas but compared to many other parts of the country Alabama would be preferred.

Something tells me a lot of y'all haven't actually spent much, if any, time in Alabama. I've lived here for over 2 years, and I think a lot of the state would surprise you.

Have driven through bama many times and stayed in motels off the interstate

Some of thelandscape along the highway is nice but the people are strange

Whatever you do, do not eat at McDonald's in Selma. I got food poisoning from there this past July.

Area around Tuscaloosa is nice. Mercedes plant on the outskirts of Tuscaloosa right down the interstate.

The people I met in Alabama during some business trips a few years ago were friendly and made me feel at home.

Have family in Bama, it's not a bad place, I actually have some good memories of it. My uncle who lives there thinks auburn fans are weird, this coming from someone from Montana. haha.
