what does "Squeeze Ags" mean?

I've never known, and have never asked.

Don't feel bad. I've never known the official meaning of it, but through context I figure it means to really really really wish hard for something.

Or to that effect ...

That's what I always interpreted as, but didn't know why we used that word. I always thought it was for the yell leaders squeezing for an extra point...since i was never a yell leader, i never used that term.

I always said "squeeze the fun bAGs."

I've always done it in the stands for a close play. Such as going for it on 4th and one. I've seen it done on both offense and defense. We used to do it in the band as a joke on extra points because so many have been missed in recent memory. It describes itself, we put our arms around each other and squeeze together.

Gay or not gay?

It came from back in when it was all males. You squeezed your manhood in order to get intense and get that extra focus. Basically

I'm gonna have to say ... gay.

now, curling is really gay.

The term comes from the early days. The 12th Man would squeeze their left gresticle, during particularly tense on-field situations. i.e. 3rd Down or field goals, to feel the pain and intensity with the team.

i don't know if the football players feel the pain that can be felt from squeezing a nut...unless they got punched there during a play.

One squeezes their right testicle during a close or crucial play.

(Don't ask me why, I don't make this stuff up, it's just the way it is.)

And I believe there used to be a yell for it.

I specifically remember that when the admission of women was allowed, it was expected that the day would finally come in Aggieland when there would be enough females on campus to help handle the squeezing on a regular basis.

That was actually one of the reasons the co-education change went so smoothly.

There are so many great traditions at A&M that serve the purpose of building unity and pride in all Aggies.

And then there's this squeezing crap which thank god I have never seen anyone do in person other than the yell leaders. I mean what the hell? Feeling the teams pain? Do you hear how crazy as hell that sounds, how freaking WIERD!

I don't dig any guy grabbin himself near me, and I felt plenty of pain without touching my nuts last year during the sip game.

Please don't take offense, but I roared with laughter when I read your question. When it was time to "squeeze" for Old Army when my husband was at A&M, all the girls use to say "time to squeeze what isn't there"....

A little hint...don't really squeeze. I had a fish buddy in the fall of '81 (when we were terrible) and he said, "that squeezing really hurts!" We all looked at each other and simultaneously thought, "What a dumbass!"

He didn't last the year.

...and we wonder where Aggie jokes start...

This may have been the funniest thread I've ever read! "Squeeze Ags". I've never heard that interpretation...I'd never even heard it until last year. At least that little game is on the honor system. Don't you guys know that the football team is wearing cups? Couldn't just squeeze your arm or something?

Maybe it was supposed to help you yell louder in order to help the team fight through in crucial situations.

Yea it was always great when TV got a shot of the yell leaders grabbing their crotch. Michael Jacksnon ain't got nothin on us.

Don't they teach this at Fish Camp anymore? No, really, that's where I learned it.

I don't recall anyone actually squeezing anything... But "support of the team" by the very appearance as noted above has always been the way it was done...
It is very much like standing to go into the game as the 12th Man, but never getting into the game in reality...
The "support" and "appearance" of the actual act by having a hand in the right location and assuming the position (hunched over) has always been the "act" of "squeeze old army"...
Besides, most of us use names like "Big Red One" or some such and not "Old Army" anyway...
