I was driving through nw ark this morning and decided to slightly detour thru Fayetteville as I had neve seen the campus. Went thru from the northeast over to the stadium. Very nice campus actually, I was impressed. It was certainly better than I imagined, very hilly however, they must get a good workout just walking or biking around it.
The stadium was really set low in a kind of valley making it even more of a bowl-like atmosphere. I never got that effect from seeing iton tv. Not much room around it though not sure where they tailgate, etc. One side has a parking area above it effectively with a bridge over the road right into the stadium for pedestrians, but those ar not big parking lots. They must park far away and in the big garage I saw across campus.
Then I headed south from the stadium which goes right by their practice fields next to the road. Well they were out there practicing, not sure if it was the first day for them or not. It was about 9:30 am when i went by.
Still a relatively cool morning then, I had the top down on my convertible. So spontaneously I decided to yell "gig em aggies" as I drove by. a few heads turned my way quizzically so I gave them a thumbs up and an aggie "whoop" as I left. Lol
I guess I should have said beat the hell outta Arkansas but I was unprepared not realizing where I was or that they would be practicing.
They looked fat and slow, their ankles were weak and I could not see their hair. They had helmets and full pads on.
