Agreed. We were curious who he was related to in order to get the bugle call. Making "most of the home games" for 10 years isn't really anything special.

Even though it appeared like they were scraping the bottom of the Bugle Call barrel, it wasn't nearly as ridiculous as the c/o '17 kid who was recognized on the field because his grandma made a sizable donation to the school.

But he made some away games too! And got married on a sunday!

Seriously though. I'm a little disappointed in the GB. I anxiously opened this thread to see a "I finger blasted his wife!" Or "she domed me up at the trad pad once!"...disappointed

When they mentioned that his wedding was on a Sunday so he wouldn't miss a game, I figured he must be a poster from the zoo. That class of '17 kid wasn't even wearing maroon...neon blue. Several comments were made about his new army 2%er game attire.

Every tailgate that I've seen him at lately he was wearing his maroon blazer and his kid was covered in maroon.

Couldn't believe I actually knew someone on Bugle Call. I'm happy for him and all but it should be reserved for the old Ags.

I usually love Bugle Call, but this one was a bit lame. Good Ag to be sure, but.....

If you guys knew him then there would be no question that he earned it. MING is an Aggie tailgater's inspiration. He is the drunkest, the smiliest, and the last to leave Northgate on Fridays before the game and the first one out of bed shoving his hairy butthole in your face to wake you up in the morning. He sets up his tailgate before most people have had their morning BM or even THOUGHT about scratching their balls. He ALWAYS has a smile on his face, is happy to see you, and is the most welcoming host, even when the Aggies lose. Just the thought of him during football season makes me laugh. Love that guy.

I have no idea who that person is, but sorry, no way anyone in class of '05 warrants Bugle Call for "being really red-ass for 8 whole years since graduation." Maybe a war hero or wounded warrior. Not some everyday Ag, though.

They should just decline to do the feature if they can't come up with a more compelling story one weekend.

Age has nothing to do with it. It's about "this person has a unique story of devotion or hardships overcome (or whatever) to Aggie Football fandom". There are probably thousands of others from the classes of the early-00's that can say they've done just as much or more than this guy. I made every home game from 1984 - 2004 and didn't feel my streak was significant when I finally broke it.

It's like a win streak. It's not noteworthy until it gets into the "wow you don't often see a win streak that long" territory. This week's bugle call had nothing unique about it, since it's just not that hard to go to every game for 8 or 9 years. Start talking when it's TWENTY eight, or THIRTY eight years... or extremely long distances are involved... or serious illness is overcome... or SOMETHING to make it notable.

This describes a ton of Aggies, older and younger. I know at least 4 people who operate their own tailgate like this. While no one is doubting his passion for A&M, there's about 90% of Kyle Field on any given Saturday with that much passion. This was a a generic Bugle Call that highlighted an Aggie that could've been just about anyone wearing maroon. The fact that he's your friend doesn't change this. Congrats to him, it's an honor, but it was a very generic Bugle Call IMO.
