Most people think we have a pretty good chance however if he went another direction I would be disappointed but not extremely shocked. I'd say 60% we get him, 40% we don't. My greater than 50/50 comes from other Houston players that know him have already committed and are trying to get him too. He's a great player, I hope he listens.
I'd say favorable at this point. I think our momentum right now might just be the deciding factor. I sure would like another good rush DE on the radar, though. Just in case.
I'd have to agree with all the previous answers of 60/40 in our favor. I don't expect his decision to come particularly soon unless our ships start running extremely low.
6-7 ships left, I can't recall exact number at this point. Take into account there is usually at least 1 decommit and he knows he has on offer on the table, he can wait to pull the trigger until the last minute.
From what I've heard from interviews and seen at camps, he looks like he'll choose between us,LSU, and USCal.
Us being close to home and being able to play defense in the SEC isn't hurting us either. That being said USC is looking great as far as recruiting goes and that could lure him in with the thought of a national championship.
For some reason none of the sites with articles on him seem to have the same sentiment though.
The only hard rule Mack has is not offering juniors before they make camp or meet with the staff. Last year Texas brought in two solid JUCOs on the oline and the other at DT. The reason he shys from them is that they usually have admission and eligibility issues (as you are seeing with you DL jucos not making it in).
