For those that aren't aware, Stowers suffered 4 concussions her freshman season at Baylor in 2023 causing her to sit out the second half of the season. The Baylor medical staff deemed her medically unfit to ever play volleyball again despite her wishes to continue playing. She'd seek outside medical opinions and continue working in hopes of one day being able to return to a court. She'd withdraw from school altogether in 2024 and focus on healing. Neurological experts cleared her to play and she took a couple visits but fell in love with Aggieland.
She'd slowly work her way back into competitive volleyball. At a new environment, a new team, and a new start, Stowers was on the court again playing the game she loved. She's show glimpses of her freakish athletic ability and unreal arm swing. As the season went on Stowers was showing everyone that she's still an elite volleyball player.
However in the tournament she'd explode as a reliable option. Down the line, sharp crosses, to the face, she was firing on all cylinders. She'd put on a 25 kill performance against undefeated Nebraska to lead A&M to the historic upset. She'd hit at an efficient and unreal clip in our sweeps in the final four and the final leading Texas A&M to its first ever volleyball national championship. She would be awarded NCAA Tournament MVP. From being told she would never be able to play the game again, to being awarded the highest honor as confetti falls from the rafters. An unreal story, however if you get the chance to listen to her talk or watch how her coaches or teammates talk about her, it shouldn't shock you. An unbelievable player, an even more unbelievable human being.
