If I were to get an antibody test to see where my levels are post vax....

would it indicate an undetected Omicron case that I may have had in the last 3 weeks? Or is the lack/change in spike protien make it more difficult to see via antibody test?

You need a test that covers nucleocapsid (N) antibodies. Those only occur from infection. Spike (S) protein covers both natural and vaccine. The study is no longer open, but the UT Southwestern study was testing for both. They used CPL clinics which are everywhere in Texas, so you may just be able to personal pay for one there

I ordered the S test directly from labcorp for about $10 out of pocket and then you show up at one of their locations for a blood draw. Link: https://patient.labcorp.com/v1/covid-19-antibody-test

I could not find a way to order the N test without doctor's orders so I am just going to have it done at my doctor's office and probably overpay for it.

Providers & Payers Workplaces News & Education COVID-19 Serology (Antibody) Test

From Labcorp website:
Quote:

Negative antibody results in persons collected earlier than 21 days after symptom onset may be negative due to the kinetics of seroconversion, specifically, some patients will not have measurable antibody until more than 21 days after symptom onset.
