...well... Covid WAS going to be statistically unnoticeable from 5-year population perspective* (virus' average kill age being the same as life expectancy). But the second-order-effects of our societal freak out will likely be far more impactful.
Ex: look at Africa shrugging the virus off but likely getting pinched hard by the ramifications of Chinese encroachments, higher cost for goods, and food shortages (which typically hit the poorest hardest).
*I fully appreciate that statistics are cold and that human loss sucks in almost all of its ugly forms.
