Is there a way to test that the covid shot creates immunity?

Any intelligent person has known this from the beginning. You have to test memory cell immunity which is expensive and difficult. The obsession with antibodies has never made sense to me.

In every single virus, antibodies spike to fight the infection and then wane once the infection has been defeated. Your body retains the ability to fight infections in the memory cells that can tell the body to produce those specific antibodies if the virus has been detected again.

If you've been infected, you're fine. If you have the vaccine, you're fine. If you don't have either, that's your choice. Stop worrying about antibodies. If your immune system is functional, you have better odds of dying from many other things. Live life.

Natural immunity is typically considered the best 'durable' immunity to viruses, period. In general, of course, things can vary widely, as some viruses (like the flu) mutate a ton and so people can get different strains in different years. Way back when, even Fauci said he had little reason to doubt natural immunity for people who had contracted covid19.

They are just stating that there is no antibody level that for sure gives you complete immunity. So don't think just because you have a decent antibody titer you can go around the COVID ward kissing everyone and not potentially get sick.

Is it not antibodies from previously infected non-vaccinated people that is used to make life saving Monoclonal Antibody treatments?

No that is convalescent plasma. Monoclonal ab are made in a lab and more specific. But yes basically you are correct.

In addition I believe the child vaccine data is going to be based on titers not end results of death or hospitalization as that is so rare in 5-11 year olds it is hard to prove efficacy. Again this is just the FDA covering their butt when people with good titers still get a mild infection.
