Quote:

The White House coronavirus task force on Tuesday urged state leaders to be ready to begin rolling out COVID-19 vaccination efforts for kids as early as the start of next month.

Administration officials told governors on a regularly scheduled call that school-aged kids could be eligible for the shots by early November and encouraged states to have plans in place to get them vaccinated, a source on the call confirmed.

ABC News first reported that pandemic response coordinator Jeff Zients told governors the White House has enough supply to inoculate roughly 28 million kids between the ages of 5 and 11.
I will not comply and my ISD will curse the day I was born if they try to mandate this for my son and kids that don't need it.

Doctors are going to need to speak out. This is a fight the unvaxed can't fight alone.

True, but most doctors are affiliated with hospital systems and they are prevented from interjecting themselves into this fight. I'm fortunate to know a doctor with "America's Frontline Doctors" that will accompany me to any and all school board meetings, should they contemplate mandating this vaccine for kids to go to school. I'm also working with my State Rep to draft legislation removing the civic immunity from ISDs and individual school board members should they mandate this vaccine. If we can get this passed into law, then the schools, and the individual school board members, will be liable should adverse effects occur due to the vaccine.

I don't see anything about mandates, though wouldn't be surprised if they tried.

The article makes it seem like a marketing push more than anything.

Yet….

Remember 18 months ago when a vaccine mandate seemed crazy. Or even 6 months ago when we assured by Faucci it was not coming?

"Kids require shots to go to school" is the rally cry of anyone who supports vaccine mandates. It's 100% coming to schools as a mandate. Just wait and see.

Agree. That deceptive title is the definition of "clickbait". Mission accomplished for the author and site, unfortunately.

Would be willing to be a lot "plans" = "mandates" because that is how this current administration rolls.

Not my district. As stated before, there are many districts in this state that have not bought into the craziness. Folks have had plenty of time to evaluate where they send their kids to get educated and make adjustments as needed. Most people won't do that....instead they complain on the internet which accomplishes nothing. If you are serious about this, you have options....you just need to do something about it.

I'm excited for vaccine for kids for those small percentage of kids with risk factors. I have one patient in the hospital now with COVID who is paralyzed from the chest down and is having a rough fight with it.

It is frustrating that the WH has not learned from the recent FDA retirements when they started to announce boosters before the ACIP & FDA reviewed the data. Same thing here. The FDA is scheduled to rule on the Pfizer data in 12 days and they are already jumping the gun.

I get asked daily what my thoughts are on the vaccine for this age and I have no answer because the data is secret and I don't have access to it. I don't think there is any way they can prove decrease death or hospitalization rates because those rates are so tiny you would have to vaccinate millions of kids to prove it. I think they will lean on titers and showing good titer response after vaccination.

I do not think this is an emergency for non at risk kids and a mandate will be folly.

That's the new strategy. Dangle a mandate threat out there and get the individual districts and companies to try and get ahead of it and do the dirty work.

In Texas, Abbott won't allow a mandate but few districts will try to have one. I am sure Dallas and Austin will try. Maybe Houston. Our district probably won't either b/c they haven't mandated anything this year. And a large majority in our district do not plan on vaccinating their kids if I had to guess.

There will be mandates before the end of the school year. In conjunction with booster mandates to keep your job not long after.

Good thing we have a federal government that stays within their lane and would never consider withholding federal funds to schools that don't have XX% of their kids vaccinated.

I have 2 kids in college. Both were required to vaccinate before enrollment. Pissed me off. They don't really care, just a jab. My youngest is 18 next week, he is 6' 3", 180 pounds of pure muscle. He lifts and plays basketball every day. His risk from covid is so miniscule as to be non-existent.

If anyone tries to mandate a vaccine for him, I will take as much time off work as I have to and do my best to make their lives a living hell.

This bull**** has to stop.

How much money do ISD's in Texas get from the federal gov. or what % of the yearly budget is made up of federal funds? From what I can gather by scouring my districts financial information, tax revenue makes up the bulk (" tax revenues, which make up the vast majority of school district revenue"). How much strong arming can the federal gov really do when their financial input falls in the slim minority?

The cognitive dissonance around the slippery slope of this entire ordeal is amazing to behold.

  • Biden in December 2020: "No I don't think it should be mandatory. I wouldn't demand it to be mandatory," Biden said of the coronavirus vaccine.

  • Jen Psaki in July 2021: "Vaccine mandate is not the federal government's role."

  • Biden in September 2021: Makes vaccines compulsory for federal employees, contractors, and many health care workers. Private companies employing more than 100 people will also have to mandate vaccines or offer regular testing for staff. [Even after most people are vaccinated and we start experiencing a downturn from peak.]

  • Biden in October 2021: see this thread. Prepare kids for vaccines....but it's just a marketing push. Lol.

  • Next bullet point here will be vaccine mandates for schools. Stay tuned.

The Covidian is a strange sort: he both relies on “science” and ignores it. Perhaps because it’s not “science” at all, but rather just the TV.

And I haven't seen one bit of real evidence that says I should have my 13 and 14 year old fit and active boys vaccinated. I'll be one of the crazy people if it's required for them to go to school.

My wife and I and our Type 1 seventeen year old daughter are vaccinated. Nobody will convince me my boys need the shot. If you're an adult worried they'll pass it to you, stay home for the rest of your life.
