I am on day 7. Consistent fever. I bought a pulse oximeter. Currently reading 92 to 93%. Do I need to go to hospital?

When I had it back in May my doctor told me to go if oxygen drops below 90 to go in to the hospital.

Confirmed. That is what I was told as well.

Thank you!

I retook my oxygen levels and now it's 98. I was sitting down when I first took it.

Make sure to keep an eye on that stat. I know a few friends who had dropped into the 70s unknowingly. Sounds like you are in good shape though.

If you are on day 7 and having any other issues you might want to look into monoclonal antibodies to see if you are eligible. Its best given before day 10 and appears quite beneficial.

Thank you. Is Regeneron an example of that?

Co-worker just returned to work after a very bad case of Covid Pneumonia. The hospital personnel said they wouldn't admit him unless his oxygen dropped below 90. In his case, he was in the low 90's.

Yes.

Not a doctor but they say best if taken between 4 and 5 days after first symptoms. I am not sure if they are holding strong on it but I heard they wont do it after Day 10...i assume that is because at that point a patient would either be too severe for it or too far along and assumed to be recovering....just a guess.

Definitely take a look and see if you can maybe get it today. Apparently a pretty nasty fever / chills for the night after seems to be consistently reported but followed with feeling much better soon thereafter.

Make sure your pulse ox is getting a good wave when it is reading. It's the line that goes up and down. It should match your pulse. If it looks random and not with your pulse, disorganized, or very small, switch to a different finger. Also, I know it's probably not an issue for you, but make sure there's no nail polish on the finger. No artificial nails.

Sometimes when people get a low number, it's just because the machine is not picking up well. Always double check on different fingers and make sure your pulse is picking up. If it is having trouble picking up, warm your hand with a warm towel or blanket for a few minutes and try again.

Pulse will usually pick up best on index or middle finger.
