Have any of your kids had covid? If so, what were the symptoms? Mostly looking for info on the toddler/infant age but any data will be helpful.

One of the kids(10) I coach in baseball just had it last week after school started back. He had a fever for a day and a headache for 2 days. He is still quarantining now.
Our 2.5 year old was fussy, napped more, and had little appetite. We self diagnosed it as an ear infection and took him to the doctor where he tested positive.

Sorry, not toddler or infant so maybe this has little value to you - but maybe some value to others who are curious about all kid's ages.
My ten year old had a headache and felt bad at school last Tuesday, came home and we took his temp and it was 100. Gave him an at home test (Ellume home test) and it showed he was positive. Gave him over the counter cold medicine and the next day he still felt pretty bad, with a headache, but no fever. Ended up only having that mild fever that first evening, never again, but he said he had a headache for a few days, his nose felt full but he never blew it, and things "tasted different" according to him. He was pretty much normal acting two days after his first symptoms, so it was very mild - unfortunately he has to stay away from school for 10 full days.
He was unvaccinated, but there are 4 of us in the house that are vaccinated and so far no one else has caught it. Didn't really distance much after knowing he was sick, and definitely weren't distanced in the days before his symptoms - which is when they say you are the most contagious.

Toddler- most have no symptoms other than the clear runny nose they have 24-7.
I've tested several over the last 6 months and 0 positives. Just lots of RSV/sinus/ear disease and hand foot mouth- normal toddler stuff.
In families that have a cluster outbreak they almost always (edit: always so far for me) say the toddler never had symptoms.

My son had it. Cough for a week. Tired for a day. No other symptoms.
We are having an outbreak at our house right now. Everything KidDoc said is spot on.
My wife and I are both positive (both vaccinated) and have mild symptoms. We have 5 kids. Two of them tested positive on Sunday and three did not. Our 5-week old tested positive and is pretty asymptomatic right now. He wants to be carried a little more but that is it. Our 4 year old who was positive seems unfazed. He has a very slight runny nose but that is it. Our other three are showing very mild symptoms (slight cough and some runny nose) but that is. Their ages are 7, 4, and 1 (13 months old).

My daughter was 2 when she got it from her daycare teacher. She was tired for a morning and took an early nap. After she woke up she was back to her normal self.
I wish someone would run a study looking at elementary school kids at the end of this school year. I bet >90% will show evidence of COVID immunity and most of them will have no memory of having it.
Hopefully, over the next decade, our kids getting exposed to this pathogen when they are young with a vigorous immune system will essentially smoother it.

Our 8 month old daughter just had a very slight cough and sounded raspy. 3 year old might have had it, some cold like symptoms a week or two prior, but tested negative when we got them tested. Will do an antibody test at some point to know for sure.
My 2 elementary aged nephews had it a few weeks ago. Minor flu symptoms for 2 days.

Doc, would you say those with Covid psychosis are doing more harm than good to kids' immune systems? Sheltering kids from an endemic virus that almost never hurts them seems to be like a sport for them.

And the parental anxiety is rubbing off in the kids. I had a lot of teens this summer who were having panic attacks about going to school and refusing to go anywhere without a mask.

Our 4 yr old got it from a church camp. We dismissed it as typical day care krud or maybe stomach bug. She had massive headaches one day (was uncontrollably screaming in a way I've never heard her yell) and fever. I gave her ibuprofen and fever subsided, no appetite. She threw up in the middle of the night but it was just stomach bile since she hadn't eaten dinner. She lost her appetite and claimed "nothing tasted good" (even brownies I made her that she normally devours).
Her 2 yr old brother came down with cold symptoms a couple of days later but we still weren't thinking COVID. His "cold" got progressively worse and then he wouldn't eat for the same reason. At this time his sister started eating again and loved the same brownies that she claimed a few days prior did not taste good.
Thursday and Friday my wife and I started coming down. She tested on Friday and was positive. Over the weekend we pieced together our theory as to how we probably all got it. By Monday neither one of us could taste/smell anything and I got the kids PCR tested. We got our test results on Wednesday and confirmed they had it.
In hindsight we concluded the 4yr old for it from church camp (our church had a pretty decent outbreak (30+ kids for it that then infected their families). My wife and I recovered very quickly. All the vaccinated families I know either didn't get it (after bringing home a confirmed positive child home) or got very mild cases like us. The only unvaccinated family I know got hit very hard. That is true for our family. I had it back in January and nobody else showed symptoms. About a month ago, my 10 year old got it and only had a headache and allergy-like symptoms. My wife then got it and ran a fever and had body aches for a few days. My 7 year old then got it and had was achy for a day and slept a lot. The 10 year old and 7 year old only experienced symptoms for 1-2 days. They played a lot of X box. My 3 year old, the dirtiest member of our family, never missed a beat and we never had him tested.
24 hour low grade fever, stuffy nose for the 4 month old, 24 hour low grade fever and mild cough for the toddler. Behavior never affected for either except the toddler didn't sleep so great the one night of fever. Cough and stuffy nose disappeared much faster than the average cold, that's for sure. Weird virus.
I had it last week. Son is 5 and had an ear infection at the same time so we went in, but we opted against testing. He had a lingering cough, but has been fine the entire time. He is back at school already.

Similar experience for us. My 12 year old got it first at a soccer tournament back in April. She had fever for a day and was back to normal the next. Gave it to me and knocked me down for a good 2-3 days with fever and extreme fatigue (fatigue was no joke). Gave it to my wife, same result. 14 year old and 8 year old got it with same results as my previous kiddo. Never really knew if my toddler got it. Runny nose is all she really had around that time. None of my kids were tested and neither my wife. Wife went to get antibody test done a couple weeks ago out of curiosity and had the antibodies. 'Munity!
I know one 4 year old who got it. Mom thought it was allergies/morning drainage at first (Saturday). On Monday when she had to make the decision for school, it was clear he was sick but never had a fever. Tested positive later Monday. Hard coughed for the rest of the week and was clearly down (napped a lot). Drove her crazy the rest of quarantine.
He's a big boy though, if you saw him you'd think he was 6 or 7. Greater then 99th percentile for height and weight. May be why it stuck around longer for him, but never got to the point of even thinking about hospitalization.

Our baby girl had COVID positive test result at 5 months. She got it through a child care worker. Symptoms were a fever for one day low grade around 100 and then had a cough that seemed to last for about a week.
Last year my wife and I had covid at the same time so we couldn't isolate from our 2 boys, 10 & 6 at the time. We both had extremely mild cases and recovered in just a couple days. We were in extremely close contact with our boys and they never exhibited a single symptom.KidDoc said:

Our older boy (turned 11 in July) has had to take a few covid tests in order to attend a couple sleepaway camps the last 2 summers and always negative.
Our younger one missed the first week of school the week of 8/10 because he ran a fever for almost 4 days and had a bad cough. Tested negative for covid but positive for RSV and his summer camp the week prior had an RSV outbreak. His pediatrician noted she had several kids his age (he'll be 7 tomorrow) who the parents were certain had covid end up negative for covid and positive for RSV.
Both have had repeated close contact exposures for fairly extended periods of time with no exhibition of symptoms. The Mrs. and I are seriously considering having them tested for antibodies.

All the stories I have heard of kids catching covid were pretty much non-events. Both my kids were in school full time all last year (8th and 10th), did the masking and distancing thing, and neither one of them ever caught it unless it was completely asymptomatic. Both my high school kids are vaxxed (willingly) to reduce the chances of bringing something home to mom, dad, or the grandparents (all also vaxxed). My older son's biggest concern last year was to make sure he didn't catch a minor case and lose half his high school baseball season.

20 month old toddler and 8 year old child. Both tested because of known exposure. No Covid symptoms of any sort. Some minor emotional trauma primarily related to being stuck at home with parents again.
My 10 year old got it in November, tested PCR and Antigen positive. We were in close contact with him, but my wife, myself, or my 8 year old daughter never got sick. I tested several times (negative) and isolated so I could go back to work.

My kids had it in November. 4 kids, 3 asymptomatic. The fourth acted like he had the flu for a day and a half. No long term effects.
12 year old has it. Sniffles turned into pretty good fever which broke a few hours later. Off and on headache now. Ready for him to bounce all the back. Hope the rest of us stay clear.
7 year okd had it in March. Runny nose and sneezing for a day. Bever felt bad, was rollerblading around the driveway every day she had to stay home.
