Wife got sick on Thursday evening. Started calling Dr.'s and Pharmacies for a test on Friday. No dice. Was told to go the Walgreens/HEB and get a test. Tried every Pharmacy and Grocery store within a 30 mile radius and no test on hand. Finally called my brother who works for a hospital and got her in for a test Saturday morning. Didn't get the test results until Sunday morning. (Positive).

Tried to get in to see a Dr and could not accomplish that until Monday afternoon. Lots of time elapsed where I felt like the worst husband and provider in the world. Finally got her last prescription today that she does not need. She started turning the corner for the positive yesterday.

Sucks to live in a small town, sometimes.

She had been on the Dr. Coates schedule since December. Neither my son nor I have been vaccinated and we both are just trucking along. No idea why or how this virus skips over some people. I guess we are blessed.

Ours had them on an endcap between the frozen aisle and the beginning of the cleaning supplies & cosmetics.

No idea but Walgreens has them right next to the checkouts

We are visiting my wife's brother in the valley who had his leg amputated 2 days ago and is at a rehab center. They require a test before seeing him and they said the at home tests were fine to use before going in. Just do the test with a staff member in a room.

I took the Binax test. It was behind the counter at the Kroger pharmacy. Had to ask for it.

Test was a little complicated but it worked fine (I was negative). It comes two to a box so you can do a follow-up if you need to.

Yep did mine today with my wife. Also negative.

Would do it again for ease.

How much were they and how do you 'officialize' them? For instance, we're going to St. John in a month and will need a negative covid test. I'm thinking of just doing this one.

And given that I know a lot of people who had trips messed up b/c their results didn't come back in time for their flight. So this would be fantastic if they allow them. If I were you, I'd consult the airline you are using or see if St. John has anything on their website for which tests travelers can use.

IIRC, the Binax test packet at Kroger was $21 ... and included two tests. Might have been more, but it was definitely in the $20 range.

The Kroger near me had a lot in stock. They were just behind the pharmacy counter.

Edit to add: I don't know how official they are since you are doing them yourself and you don't get a report from a third party to show.

21 dollars at Walgreens. Yea I would ask the airline about them and if the test can be done beforehand. I don't see how they can validate it though.

Its just like a pregnancy test. 1 line negative, 2 line positive.
