That's probably the Nucleocapsid (N) antibody protein. You should have both Spike (S) and N, but to confirm its not a vaccine (S) antibody, they may just test for N.

Next gen vaccines will likely have both. That will improve the durability of vaccines as they closer emulate the superior natural immune response.

Good luck finding any of this info from CDC or "experts".

So I tested positive for covid (mild case) on like November 30 of last year. Had repeated exposures since then and nothing. Just went to CVS today and did the antibody test and still positive for the IgG Covid antibodies.

At least in this guy we're looking at 9 months that they're showing up post-infection.

Other than that I got nuthin'

Looks like it's testing for antibodies to the spike protein, specifically antibodies to the receptor binding domain. No idea how to interpret the number.

How do you know what you had in June wasn't a cold? Do you think every instance of congestion and scratchy throat from now on will be Covid?

I read it "a similar mild case" as meaning it was another case of Covid. I really was just curious about your thinking, not trying to be an ass about it. Thanks for the clarification.

The TX Cares test separates spike from nucleocapsid which it labels "total antibody".

As checking antibody status becomes more mainstream these labs need to improve their result readings. The fine print usually doesn't explain the different figures. The clinic is clueless and directs you to lab, who are also clueless. Goodluck getting an actual doctor on phone.

Best bet is someone on this board. .
