My understanding is that the vaccine prevents more serious illness. However, the vaccine does not protect against infection or the ability to transmit to another person. I've seen some studies showing similar viral loads in the nasopharynx in vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

I am only a DVM and would love to hear what the MDs have to say. Am I incorrect in my understanding of the vaccine?
