They are reporting 499 confirmed cases in Lubbock with 40 deaths.

That's roughly one death per 12.5 cases!

There are a few other places with similar results. For example, Madison County, Indiana is even worse with 394 confirmed cases with 45 deaths.

I'd expect there are actually more like 5k to 8k infected with that many deaths.

What's their actual steady population and what is their population that routinely travels every month or two? That's your answer.

Apparently they've had some significant nursing home outbreaks. Death rate will be higher due to population affected.

Do STDs make you high risk?

When it gets in a nursing home there is a spike in deaths, People in Lubbock probably are going to Colorado and bringing it back.

The virus got into the nursing homes here and just spread like wildfire. Up to this point 223 off our cases are nursing home related. The list 144 as exposure to a known case. That's where the majority of our cases are. Almost all of our deaths are related to the nursing homes here in town. I believe only 3 have not been nursing home related. There was one guy who was 40 who passed away.

The last few days, thankfully, the nursing home numbers have have not gone up. They have stayed at 224. Thank God for that. But yes, we look at a map and our numbers are way above every one else around us.

I wouldn't be shocked with the antibody tests if our numbers aren't higher. Our mayor issued a stay at home but it wasnt enforced. People have still been out and about especially lately. Wal mart, Home Depot and other places have been full.

The past few days, our numbers have gotten less and less so again, thank God for that.

Washington County has 113 cases and 13 deaths. One nursing home has an outbreak and no one did anything about it for weeks. Finally have a state agency here trying to get control of the situation.

Really bad on both the nursing home owner and the county officials to let it get to this point. Took intervention by our state senator to get anything done to attempt to contain the outbreak. Should have been done at least 2 weeks ago.

Edited to add that Washington County is now up to 141 cases and 15 deaths.

Air quality is crap.

I read an article about that place. Really sad stuff. I would be beyond furious if I had a loved one there.

Six straight days of no new cases in our nursing homes as of today. The last 4 days, we have seen only a few new cases, so Praise God for that!
