We have the privilege of hosting Colonel Michael Fossum '80, former NASA Astronaut and current Chief Operating Officer at Texas A&M University at Galveston, for an online interview about dealing with isolation (as it relates to those dealing with the same challenge during this COVID-19 pandemic).



If you have a question you would like for us to ask Col. Fossum, please submit it in this thread by noon tomorrow (4/2). We will review the questions and ask him a few during the interview.

How did you handle fear when faced with the "what if" of going into space? And would you have signed up for a manned mission to Mars in your earlier years (assuming you wouldn't want to do it now too)?

Ask him how much easier it is to be isolated in space for 6 months to a year versus one month at home with the wife??

A few questions as he's living my childhood dream:

* How did Texas A&M (or the Corps) prepare you for the mental rigors of space travel?

* What would the game plan be if you turn the key and the shuttle won't start?

* Between us girls, do you have any souvenirs you can tell us about?
