Do either of y'all have nearby family or close friends? It's always a good idea to have someone you know and trust that can check in on them from time to time, while also giving some needed social interaction.

Sitting at home alone. My kids and wife are at the mother-in-laws for the past week.

I am on day 8 of a low fever. Doctor said friday i probably have it but that since i was mild and low risk no test.

my MIL is at the house but is supposed to fly back to boston wednesday. we will see if that happens. My parents are over an hour away but both of them are definitely higher risk so IDK if they should be coming over anyways. Most of our close friends work on ships so are all over the place, or constantly in contact with foreigners. I know plenty will gladly drop things off or look after them though, and of course that can ease the burden if need be, but even flying home from singapore as harvey dumped rain i didnt feel this uneasy. At least international travel was not completely shut down then, so i could make my way home. Once my ship leaves the states shortly, i have absolutely no idea when i will even be able to get home. It could be months. I mean the President just mentioned trying to get Americans out of central america and it being a giant ordeal. I'm stuck in Odessa until this passes over. Work won't let me travel home (Brazos County) until this passes over.

I'm in California. Was supposed to move to Northwest Arkansas for retirement. That's on hold.

My 89 year old mom and my 23 year old daughter are in Dallas. Wish I was closer to them.

But my mom is going through treatment at MD Anderson so they recently got a condo in the med center. We've been visiting 3+ times a week as things have progressed and we don't know how much time we have left.

Basically have to stay away during all this. With her treatment her immune system is extremely compromised so we essentially know her contracting this thing would be the end.

My wife and I were in one of those seasons where intimacy has been beyond great when this whole thing started... neither of us had the will power to shut it down, so we have kind of decided if one of us gets sick, we are both going to be sick.

Friend of mine is in Maine for her father's funeral away from her kids and husband in DFW.

Separated? Unfortunately no, both kids are right here. Day care shut down and we're doing work from home. Maybe some of the others are working but I'm mostly trying to keep my sanity together while they act all bat**** crazy. I've lost track of how many times either of them have cried today. That's what they're best at.

My daughter drove herself and our four year old granddaughter over to our house this afternoon. Granddaughter sat strapped in her car seat with the window down, daughter stood leaning on her car as we stood +6' away and talked for an hour. It was painful to not hug or even touch my granddaughter.

Have you all been quarantining? I would think after some period of time it's fine to visit if everyone has been doing it

Sid same. My daughter son in law and granddaughter drove over and brought me some eggs and we talked and said I love you. It was good seeing them and with Dallas going into shelter in place tomorrow, I dont know how long till I will see them again. I facetimed my son's four year old this morning. It is his birthday. They live on the other side of the metroplex I am alone in my apartment and was feeling a little sorry for myself when I read this post.

It really puts me to shame.

One is a lonely number, but being alone with littles and no end in sight for hubbies return is worse by far.

We're quarantined. I haven't come within 6 feet from another human besides my wife since last Wednesday. Haven't left the property since Thursday

Daughter's Family is quarantined exc her husband works at the Kaiser industrial pharmacy...theyre working balls out busy right now. They practice safe distancing but my wife's 70 and has skin cancer. We're not taking any chances.

Single, no kids, no roommates.
On week 8 of working from home alone and sheltering in place alone. I've sat at the end of a friend's driveway a couple times for a beer and I dined in a restaurant last Friday. Other than HEB that's been the extent of my in-person interactions the last eight weeks.

Anyone juggling with their kids and their own schoolwork during this time deserves massive kudos. But, honestly I feel like it's better than going through this alone.

(I'm also a military brat, so THANK YOU to those that are serving.)

Currently crossing the Atlantic. Our 6th Fleet deployment was cut short and we are headed to the states for 3 days to resupply and then are headed elsewhere. My relief date is scheduled for April 24th but seeing as the Department of the Navy is not authorizing travel at this time, that will obviously get pushed to the right, and I expect significantly. We have not been allowed off the ship since Feb 29, and were quarantined to our ship in Greece and Spain. I do not anticipate being allowed off the ship when we pull in to the States.

My wife is now at home, with her work having shut the doors for the time being. She pulled the kids out of daycare and is just hanging out at the house. Right now I have no idea when I will be able to get home. The places we are headed are not allowing travel in or out and I dont anticipate being allowed off the ship any time soon anyways. Reliefs are all but canceled, and i only see things getting worse at home before they get better.

Unfortunately, none of this feels real because i am in my own little isolated world, but i know that it is weighing on her like crazy, and in turn it is weighing on me. Is anyone else out there separated from their family? I have been pushing her to stock up on supplies for a few weeks and from what she tells me she is. Any other thoughts or ideas on things that i can do from out here? My go to for assistance is getting extra sitter time or hiring a maid, to help out and lighten her load, and both of those are obviously out right now. I feel pretty helpless from where i am at. She rode out Harvey in a rental while 8 months pregnant so she is no stranger to the hardships, but this feels completely different, and at least that time i was able to catch a flight home.

I have an idea, let's all quote it for posterity.

Wife, 12 year old son, and I have not separated ourselves during all of this even though my wife and I work in healthcare. Wife and I make sure to remove clothing before entering home and immediately take a shower.

In November my wife started a job in TN, we rented a house there with the expectation that she would fly home once a month and I'd fly up there once a month. We haven't seen each other since Valentines weekend.

She was supposed to come home when our son came home from college for spring break. She got the flu and couldn't fly, so the son flew up there after she was well for the last part of spring break. Obviously his college canceled the rest of the semester and then PA locked down the state. He decided to stay up there with her and his vehicle is still at the Pittsburgh airport. I've tried to isolate as much as possible, while the wife and son are in TN because my mom has some issues and our ranch manager and his wife are both in their mid 70's. So I've been stuck at home by myself and visiting the ranch sporadically. Not as bad as being stuck on a boat you can't get off of, but it still sucks.

Well considering the ship transmits AIS and the quarantine order was just blasted all over NPR I think we are ok. Ohbandndont forget when ships head out on deployment half the time the command sends them off with facebook posts. Hell, trump was talking about what we are doing during one of his COVID pressers not that long ago.
