Would it be possible to get Big Event to mobilize for home remediation?

There are a lot of homes that are going to need carpet ripped up, walls stripped, and ruined furniture taken out of the house over the next few weeks due to flood damage. There are also a decent number of houses that will stay underwater for weeks in the backsides of Addicks and Barker Reservoir so there still time to organize.

Local churches have been getting big groups of people to help houses. Why couldn't Texas A&M, though the leadership of the Big Event, get a significant group of students down to help with this essential, and physically difficult task? I've seen local churches get groups of hundreds of people to help today.

Would it even be possible? The activity is more risky than painting houses due to mold, electrical, and infection risks, so there could be significant liabilities (on top of transportation requirements).

I think this would be a phenomenal show of the Aggie spirit. Thoughts?

There are people all over NW Houston helping clear out flooded houses and such. Find a church or charity group and join in. I took off work from Austin and have demoed out the first floor of one house already, headed to another.
