Does anyone have news on Hobby or IAH? I've got a flight out of Hobby still scheduled for Friday morning to get to LAX, but wondering if the airport will be opening before then, and if it is open, how does this current closure affect scheduled flights?

Wondering if I'll need to go ahead and book a flight out of Austin for Friday morning.

I had a flight scheduled for Friday morning out of hobby as well on Southwest. I went ahead and changed it to San Antonio just in case

JRey just said both airports closed until Thursday morning. Hopefully that's correct.

IAH twitter says operations at bush suspended until further notice.

Hobby says the same thing. Call your airline.

Also have a flight out on Friday AM from Hobby.

I'm pretty doubtful we make it or if it's even appropriate that we go, but it's been tough to pull the trigger yet.

Looks like some folks that are flying United out of IAH both Thursday and Friday have been cancelled.

My folks are flying out Thursday night out of IAH via Alaskan Air and no cancellation as of yet.

My Friday flight to LA on united has not yet been canceled

Wasn't criticizing and wouldn't be surprised if it did cancel or if I can even get to the airport on friday.

FYI, my Southwest flight for Friday morning was just cancelled. I've now rebooked and flying out of Austin first thing Friday morning.

That looks to be right considering the cancellations, but where did you find that news? I can't find anything on it.

Southwest cancelled our flight from Hobby this Friday. Headed to Austin

My buddy's flight from Hobby to Love tomorrow got cancelled

Just got told by Southwest that they are in process of cancelling all in/outbound flights from Hobby until at least September 5th.

Just go to off the phone with United...they seem confident that Thursday is solid for their resuming of flights.

Dumb question: how do you know if your flight has been cancelled via United? My flight on Friday pm is still showing up on the United app. Does that mean it is still on?

Returned a rent car to Hobby today. 10 to 610 to 45 to broadway was completely clear. Runways looked dry as well.

We were due to flight out of Hobby To Nola Friday morning, we changed over to fly out of Austin, with a layover in Houston to have the flight canceled. We're now flying Thursday night to Nola.

We were on vacation in Roatan starting 8 /18. We have been stuck here since. 1st flight out on United is not available till Saturday. The flight is sold out other than bussiness class. They want $2000 to upgrade me. They switched me to American through Miami arriving in Houston around 11PM. I fly united once or twice monthly to west tx and Denver. I'm done with them . SW will get that business from now on. I'll find another option for international . 3 hours on on the phone for this BS.

What did you expect United to do? Upgrade you to first class for free?

They've deservedly have gotten a lot of sht but they didn't cause Houston to flood.

I would not feel confident on that. MAYBE in a limited fashion.

Out of Hobby on SWA, my flight was cancelled for mid morning, Saturday. After waiting on phone 1.5 hours I got it rescheduled to 4:35 Saturday afternoon. She said the airport was scheduled to open at noon Saturday but it wasn't etched in stone.

We were supposed to leave tomorrow but i got a cancellation text on Monday. So if you haven't got a text/email, you may be in good shape.

I don't think the airlines are in charge here.

The airports are run by city of Houston and HAS, no?

Looks like over Half of the flights Thursday to LAX have been canceled.

The only one I am seeing cancel for Friday is the one at 9:10

Point was they had seats on a direct flight and were holding out for higher fairs. Turns out economy is NOT sold out now. They have since placed me back on the direct flight. We have been here a week longer than expected. Need to get home ASAP to check on our house in Richmond if wecan even get there. Certainly don't expect to be upgraded for free but I think they were playing games. Who knows?

Just heard both airports will open at 4:00 today.
