I am in the Denton area and can provide a temporary home for pets while you handle flood issues.
I have a decent sized fenced yard and room in the house for dogs or cats. They'll need to be able to get along with my rescue dog (Lily is friendly and playful) and my 12 year old daughter.
Cats, dogs, or maybe a few other critters (we can chat about specifics), would need to be fixed and up-to-date on shots and vet care. I'm completely comfortable with senior animals, animals that need to remain together, or animals that require medication. If you have supplies, that's great - if not I'll work with friends, family and neighbors to track down food, crates, bedding, etc.
I tried to keep the title broad enough so others that can petsit or foster in DFW can list. If there's a bigger need than I can meet, I have some ideas on getting more options for your pets. I also have a great Aggie vet that could provide care if needed during their stay. I'm not looking to adopt right now (famous last words) so prefer temp arrangements only. My daughter and I are home quite a bit right now so pets wont have long stretches of time alone.
Having been through Allison, I know how stressful the pet issues can be. If you want a safe, temporary, fun, and loving environment for them for a few days or few weeks, let me know and I'll try to help or will help locate others who can also assist. I took care of my neighbors cat after they had a house fire and it made finding temp housing for the people much easier, and it was 1 less thing to worry about for a few weeks.
Edit to add: I'm off work this week so I can even drive toward Houston for pickup of pets on any day other than Wednesday. If you didn't make it out with shot/vet records, I can contact your vet directly for assistance.
I'm so sorry those of you in the Houston area are going through this - it's crazier and worse than Allison so I can't imagine.
Sorry for typos - typing on my little phone right before sleep and will check in tomorrow.
