We always seem to have talented pitching and this team certainly has that.
Offensively, yes. Last season we had one of the worst offensive seasons any of us can remember and we lost our top two hitters from that team (Pennington & Baldwin who were head-and-shoulders above the rest of the squad).
2005 Stats:
http://www.aggieathletics.com/sports/games/boxscores/2005/MBA/teamcume.htmOn top of that Infante and Spencer Jackson are injured.
We have to recruit high school kids better. I posted it on another thread. Since 2000 we have had only 5 different position players named to 1st or 2nd team All-Big 12. Only 3 of them were signed out of high school (Pennington, Schindewolf, & CStinson).
It's no longer early in the conference season. After tomorrow we'll be 1/3 of the way through the conference schedule and right now we're 2-6 (and we have the 3 top schools still left to play.
It's certainly possible for us to get hot and make a regional that would be surprising at this juncture in the season.
