I really effing enjoyed watching the White Sucks celebrate an effing sweep at MMP. Your performance to win the NL pennant was stellar but your pathetic play in the World Series pretty much erased that from my mind.

Not sure I understand the venom. If you're not an Astros fan, I'm not sure what you're hopes were pinned to. The games were competitive... the astros are what they are, a team missing a big time stick or two.

Unfortunately the recipe that got them this far (4 wins short) will be hard to duplicate next year.

92Ag95- If you can not appreciate a team that fights back from being 15 games under .500 to win a pennant doesn't really need or want a cr@ppy fan like you. Why don't you jump on the Yankees bandwagon or whatever team gets off to a hot start next year.

If the Stros had played on the same level that got them there in the first place they would have won it. But they wouldn't have even made the playoffs with the type of perfomance they displayed in this series.

I hate what sports have become today. Most fans can not even enjoy the ride of the season- all that matters is winning. If you can't win the whole thing it is better to be a cr@ppy middle of the pack team than to actually lose in the Series, or Super Bowl, or the Finals in any sport. 92Ag95 I probably won't by a NLCS champion t-shirt but I'll be back to watch the 'Stros next year and enjoy whatever the season brings which I doubt will be another NL Pennant (more likely they'll finish around .500) so at least the team will not embrass you in the Series.

At least you can tell who the bandwagon fans are this way. They don't really understand the team because they never really followed it in the first place. That, and they like to throw around things like "second place is the first loser"

They lost 4 games by a total of 6 runs. How exactly is that sucking ass?

the title of your post is right...you just went in the wrong direction with it.

I don't think the 6 runs stat says too much. I think the more telling stat about the astros is 23 runners left in scoring position (34 LOB). 15 of those 23 were at MMP. They just finally ran into a team that couls stand up to their pitching and didn't make as many mistakes on defense. What set the astros apart was their pitching. When they lost that they lost hope.

9 of the 23 were in the extra inning affair in game 3.

Why doesn't anyone give the White Sox credit for excellent pitching and timely hitting? Going in, the Sox relief staff was an unknown and they basically came out and shut down our mediocre offense.

Yea, the offense didn't produce, but some credit has to be given to the WORLD SERIES CHAMPS. We were competitive, but got swept by the best team in baseball. You're probably the same guy that wants to trade Brad Lidge cuz he was 0-2 in the WS.

the way Lidge is pitching I would be happier if you left him in the closer role.

Good lord who peed in your Cheerios? Good teams play like crap sometimes. It happens. Unfortunately, the Astros played like crap during the World Series. Am I happy about that? No, but I'm not going to let it diminish what they did accomplish this year. If you want to focus on the bad when there is so much good this team did, that's fine I guess but it sounds like a pretty miserable existence to me.

Yeah, the White Sox were not any good. I mean they just barely squeeked their way into the World Series. It seems like every other team that faced them in the offseason was competitive except for us.

wow, what an idiot. sure we did horrible with runners in scoring position, but do you think that had anything to do with the white sox pitching? and as for this series not being bearable? how are 4 games decided by a total of 6 runs not bearable. sure we got swept, but it's not like we got our asses kicked in every game. each team had an oppurtunity to win every game, we just didnt take advantage of ours.

I'm a fan of the Astros. I don't call out the players on my team and I'm proud of them for winning the NL. One of the best games I watched this year was Game 4 of the World Series and how well Backe pitched with all the pressure. He didn't give up, nor did the Astros.

I think most of these guys aren't Astros fans and are being smart a@@ on the internet for their own personal enjoyment. Some people enjoy bothering other people. Weird, but hey.

92Ag95 is not so far off. In the city of Houston, there are no moral victories, especially if you've been a fan for 30+ years. The fans of Houston have been treated to a shyt sandwich forever and deserve better.

The Astros FINALLY did something worth bragging about, after 43 years. Then, with opportunity after opportunity dropping in their laps, they pulled the big Houston choke job. They got 12 walks in game 3.....12!!! It was a freaking joke.

I try not to be critical of any Houston team that did what the Astros did this year, but I can also understand the venom.

They were never able to hit with RISP all season and if you expected them to do any different in the World Series...well that's your fault. It was the major reason why they scored so pathetically. They were able to overcome it at every other level but it caught up with them at the World Series and a better team beat them. Simple as that and to call it a "big Houston choke job" is just wrong. Choking would have been smacking home runs and scoring like you're the Colorado Rockies at Coors all season and then hitting like a AAA team against Randy Johnson in the World Series. 35-3 was a choke job or blowing a 20 point lead in the 4th quarter at home was a choke job. The Astros did not choke.
