Here are the Boyd's World rankings through games played Sunday, March 20.

ISR

4. Texas (down from 1)
5. Baylor (up from 17)
12. Texas A&M (down from 10)
28. Nebraska (up from 29)
34. tech (down from 27)
68. Oklahoma State (no change)
75. Missouri (down from 59)
88. Oklahoma (down from 63)
98. Kansas State (down from 94)
107. Kansas (up from 131)

STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE

2. Baylor
30. Texas A&M
44. Texas
99. tech
118. Oklahoma
165. Oklahoma State
186. Kansas State
205. Nebraska
230. Kansas
239. Kansas State

RPI

2. Baylor (up from 18)
20. Texas A&M (up from 26)
23. Texas (down from 13)
52. tech (down from 39)
61. Oklahoma State (up from 71)
93. Nebraska (up from 102)
117. Kansas State (up from 153)
126. Missouri (down from 93)
137. Oklahoma (down from 111)
200. Kansas (up from 218)

Summary:

** There are 290 Division I baseball teams. For Nebraska, Kansas and Kansas State to have SOS numbers in the 200's is really pitiful.

** Notice that tech and Missouri both had great weeks, but fell in the rankings. My guess is that this is a result of continued losses by the incredibly weak teams they played early in the season.

** Texas dropped 10 points in the RPI after being swept by Baylor. I think that's a little harsh. Then again, UT's SOS isn't as stout as some people think. The Stanford, Arizona and Baylor series were strong, but UT only went 5-4 in those games. Everyone else they've played is bad, bad, bad.

** Nebraska will certainly get a bump in SOS rating once Big XII play starts, but will it be enough to overcome what they've done so far? NU has played USC, Rice (2 games) and Texas State and STILL has an SOS of over 200.

Luke, which one of those approximates national seeds in terms of who gets to host regionals and super regionals?

It's going to be very competitive to see who hosts regionals and supers this year in the Texas/Louisiana area. The state of Texas getting two supers this year could be in jeopardy if Tulane and LSU both get one. You'd think UT would get one for sure if they keep up their current clip (although who knows if they can do that after the turd they dropped this past weekend...). Somebody in the Baylor/Rice/A&M group needs to get on an extended hot streak to get another one. I think we also want to hope one of the Louisiana teams drops off in order to increase our geographical chances.

I know it's early to talk about this, but it's still entertaining in my opinion.

Looks like if Baylor can keep on a roll, they are in a good spot to compete for hosting. Their problem is the continued lack of success in mid-week games.

I believe the RPI numbers are a pretty close estimation of what the NCAA uses. The ISR numbers are the author's interpretation of how things should be. Most college baseball "experts" seem to think Boyd's ISR numbers are much more indicative of team strength than the RPI numbers are. But, as only the NCAA can do, they choose to use the less accurate of the two.

Even after being swept by SJSU, Rice is:

#15 in the ISR

#13 in the RPI

#11 in Strength of Schedule

FYI -

ISR #1 is Cal State-Fullerton

RPI #1 is College of Charleston

SOS #1 is Purdue...but the Boilermakers are only 2-12 vs. that schedule
