Instead of having someone mow your lawn, why don't you just drive your home to a new trailer park.

Reminds me of my grade school days. Coming home in the afternoon. Turning on WGN. Watching the Cubs. And sooner or later a foul ball would roll down the line and a cute ball girl would come bouncing out to get it.

Mac, I remember the same thing. Sit in front of the tv for the 3 oclock game, listen to harry carry, etc. How can anyone hate the Cubs? They're harmless!

mowing your lawn? are you serious? The place is packed for games at 3 in the afternoon on work days, I think it's obvious those people have no jobs.

So everyone works Monday-Friday 9-5? Ever heard of a vacation day? Remember, there are probably over 10 million people in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. It doesn't take that much to fill Wrigley.

Lance is using a common coping mechanism. That is to compare everyone else to yourself. He has no job so to make himself feel better he says that other people have no jobs.

Plus, he does not understand the concept that if your boss is a Cubs fan, he may let you leave work a little early to spend a slow day in the bleachers. You'd be suprised how many people from the CME (Chicago Mercantile Exchange) show up at the games. And with the numerous academic institutions around the Chicago area there are more than enough people to make the games. It's not like they are going to watch the White Sox.

There's a quote i can't find of a Phillies manager ranting about Cubs fans not having jobs and how they're bums and he hates them. Maybe I can find it....

both Tim; some of us have done very well in the stock market.
don't expect me to take lip from a Cubs fan; i am a Texan and support my teams. it's one thing to support the Cubs, but you come blab about them constantly on TexAgs and are obnoxious in doing so. CS is 90 miles from Houston; have a little respect for the fact that there are tons of Ags in Houston who are Astros fans. it's about the same as tech fans coming on here and thinking TexAgs is their turf and talking smack. don't get me wrong, i would pull for the Cubs over anyone in the AL, apart from the Rangers.
first and foremost, I am an Aggie and my loyalties lie with A&M- as i am sure you would agree. i look forward to the baseball season this year and think the Cubs & Astros will duke it out (Cards suspect pitching will catch up with them, IMO). best of luck to the Cubs.

someone joked that i lived in a trailer park; so i stated an obvious that nothing could be further from the truth. i never even stated a dollar amount. all i said is that i have done will with the market (in response to an insult attacking my finances)- do you seriously interpret that as deliberately bragging to people i don't know on the internet? i do not, but i am sure you will argue with that. i probably don't know much about logic; after all i am just a law student in the process of sacrificing 3 years of my life to provide a good life for my lady and the family we will have some day. notice how i used the word "worth" in my prior post, as in a law degree is a very "worthwhile" investment. i've saved my money since i was 16, made good investments, and work my tail off. i could care less if you think i'm arrogant- my family, friends, and lady would laugh at your characterization of me. as i recall, i was not arguing with you.... so why not stay out of it?

"very well" can mean different things to different people. the 57 dollars i made in the market have kept me off food stamps for the time being. the real "greatness" is in keeping my parents oblivious to the decent amount of change i have made on stocks, so that they still offer to chip in on a few things for a poor law student.
are you up for some golf over Spring Break (home from March 23-27 or so)? i'd also like to go see your office and wouldn't mind helping out if you need some.
