It wasn't just their hitting that improved. In the regular season their pitching (in conf games only) was 15th in team era, considerably worse than the Aggies. Then in 8 games during their SR and the CWS they gave up a total of only 21 runs. That's amazing. I think you just have to give their coaches and players a ton of credit.
