When they are on a perennially horrible team, it's worth discussing

This is how it works

He is at Mizzou because other programs did not think he was worth an offer.

Some of those programs will look at this years performance and come to a different conclusion & the player will decide what is the best fit for his future.

5 years ago players were not getting paid this kind of money so staying at a place like Mizzou might be the best plan for the player and eventually getting himself drafted
Now the best plan is get paid more while getting ready for a possible MLB furure
