Estimating ticket expenses for future as I'd like to attend more games regularly once retired.
I see that Field Club level seats, for the latest season, are $3,415 all in per seat.
Is there a waiting list for these or are there currently season seats in the field club that go unsold?
Similarly, for those of you who travel to the away conf games, what does a weekend of travel at an SEC opponent typically run you and your spouse/family on average? I'm estimating ~$3K per weekend for travel, ticket, lodging, and food expenses for a couple assuming driving.
As others have alluded to, there is no "waiting list" for season tickets. You just have to opt in to the seat selection, and you can claim anything that is available when your priority rank number comes up. Right now, virtually nothing is available in any given year. There are a lot of people who get tickets from folks who bought season tickets back before they were such a hot commodity but can't, or don't, go to games anymore.
As to road trips, a typical baseball road trip is a lot cheaper than a football road trip because hotel prices are much cheaper (not the same demand). Now there are exceptions, like if it is graduation weekend, or some kind of local special event, but, by and large, you are paying regular hotel rates, not special event pricing, so the cost really comes down to how much you want to spend. There are some away venues where there is a hotel within walking distance of the park, and that makes a huge difference. I've stayed walking distance from the park at LSU, Arkansas, State, Bama, Vandy, Georgia, and Florida, and I believe there are options to do so at Auburn, Ole Miss, and UT, but those are the three left on my list.
Tickets are usually easily available on the secondary market at the high demand venues, but for some, you can even buy decent tickets direct (though for several, this means using Ticketmaster). If you want to sit near other Aggies, find out where the player comp sections are and look for tickets nearby. You may not want to do that at LSU and Arkansas, because the comp tickets are way down the line, and terrible views, but, it's worth thinking about when buying tickets.
